Lifted up in Prayer...

Hello there everyone..
Just a little posting tonight..

Sharing some pics with you of a little drive we took to the farm today just to check on it..
(For you who are new followers this is an old farm we bought from my aunt after she and her husband moved to the special care home and put it up for sale.. )
We use it as a getaway.. sort of...

Anyway...
All is well there..
It is just sitting and waiting until Spring when once again we will go there and make dinner and have some friends over and just enjoy the old place..

On our way home we dropped by a honey farm and purchased a lovely bottle..

We also stopped in again and visited my aunts..
My precious Aunt Eva did not know me today..
The dear thing..

As I leaned over the bed and held unto her hand my heart was so full of sadness..
I do not want her to go..

Closing my eyes I whispered to God to please be with her..

I wanted to lift her up in prayer..
We say that sometimes and I was thinking of it..

I picture God looking down and there is a vast crowd but here and there  someone is lifted up above the crowd by others who are praying for them ..
They are perhaps to overwhelmed to lift themselves up..
Too tired but we can pray for them and help lift them up and God hears and answers..

Aunt Eva is 89 and has lived a long time ...
She went to our old farm as a young bride and
moved into the farmhouse with her in-laws..
I remember them..
Her name was Carrie and his was Coonie..

We would go there on a weekend and sometimes in the summer cars would line the lane..
There would be a huge meal getting ready and there was a lot of talking and laughing going on...
Lots of family..
We kids would always run to the spring and look for the trout..

Now fifty years later I still do the same thing..
Except that I don't run.. smile..

Aunt Eva worked very hard..
Her house was always spotless and her cooking was wonderful..
The old farmhouse burned and Aunt Eva and her husband built the house you see above in 1949..

But time moves on and we all get older..
Life winds down and all the joys of yesterday are gone..
We get old and fragile and then life comes to an end..
On this old earth, anyway but there is hope..

When we love the Lord and walk in his way our death is not the end but it is the beginning of eternity with Him..
The one who died for us..
The one who made a way of escape from this world of sin..
The one who paid the dept we could not pay..
The one we can pray to and he hears and understands..
He is there to lean on in times of sorrow and distress..
He gives joy...
Wonderful sweet joy..
Thank you, Jesus...

Well, sweet ladies, thanks for visiting and listening to me once again..

I look forward to hearing from you all..
Take care and God bless..

  4. Hugs,
you know Faye, if we could but truly realize how good the going to Him is, we would not hesitate but fling out our arms and say simply, "Yes, Lord!" When my Mom died, the Lord spoke to me in spirit one day when I was walking by the river that the days are shortened for the elects sake regarding the tribulation. But also here on earth now for the elects sake in mercy to spare, the ones who are fading, so they do not suffer needlessly, or lose their dignity, Also too, the ones who grieve and mourn them as they fade, lest the letting go hinder His glory in their passing.

Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of His saints.

Will be praying comfort and peace for you all.

  7. Hello Faye, Such memories you have from the old farm and the family that used to gather there! I'm sure in one way or another , your aunt heard your loving words and knew you were there. It is so good of you to see her again. Your words about Our Lord and Saviour reach deep down inside of me and help me to love Him even more as He does us.

  8. I miss those beautiful New Brunswick hills. It is so comforting to know that when the things of this world begin to slip away, Christ is waiting for His children to come home. God's blessings...Anita

  11. Beautiful words, Faye. We have a 55 year old friend who is dying of cancer. My husband visited her last night and she was pretty incoherent and is not expected to live more than a few more days. Yet, because she has the Lord in her life she has been filled with joy even in the midst of this.

The memories you have of your aunt are wonderful! Have a blessed day!

  14. Oh I'm sorry about your Aunt Eva. I've dealt with that with my grandparents and it is so hard. I'll keep her in my prayers. I've always heard the phrase "lifted up in prayer" before but never really thought of it literally like you did. I really liked that :)

  16. I'm so sorry to hear about your dear aunt, Faye... I will do my best to lift her up in prayer as well. I see so many of the elderly in our church getting so feeble and it breaks my heart because I know they were once young and strong and able to do anything they wanted...
Your honey looks beautiful~ did they say what kind it is? Our bees make clover and sourwood honey. It is usually amber-colored.
Hope you're having a wonderful week, dear.

  18. My thoughts have run this way lately too. I have been thinking about summers at my grandparents old house. They are both long gone and the house has burned down but it does not keep me from being there in my memories.

  19. It was a wonderful blog you wrote and so appropriate for me. Today my 91 year old auntie Tillie is being buried. She is now in Heaven with her dear Lord and with many, many family members.

There are many parallels to your story and my story. My auntie lived on the farm, had people over for meals, was welcoming. She had the most amazing flower garden.

  21. God bless your dear aunt. It's so hard watching loved ones fade away from what they used to be. I'm so thankful for the hope of heaven when we'll have a new body forever.

  22. What a lovely post. What beautiful pictures - it made me miss North Carolina as well as my hometown years ago in Northern California. I had an Aunt Eva too, never got to meet her. So glad you love yours. Must be a little heart breaking to see her like this, but God sees the real beauty doesn't HE? God Bless you and thank you for sharing this.
