Just Simply Summer..

Good Evening to you all..
Another Summer's day is almost over..
I hope you are well and taking care of yourselves..

We are enjoying being here in our old cottage this season.

Terry has been busy putting on a new roof as I wile away my time at the shop making a few prim things..
Waiting for customers to drop by..

So enjoyed some dear people from Quebec ..
We got to chatting and I found out after I had sold them homemade preserves and gave them a bit of advice about homemade bread that he is a chef..
Not just a chef but worked for one of the finalists of the Top Chef Canada show..
Oh, mercy...
I wanted to take the preserves back.. grin..
They were so nice..
That is what I enjoy most about a little tourist shop..
Meeting people.. smile.

After supper we take our little nightly drives or spend time with friends..

Today our sweet friends Pam and Mel came by..
We went to the caves for our supper and it was lovely.
Friends are such blessings, eh?

The cottage is pretty cozy as evening settles down around the Bay.
There is always a good book to be had and perhaps a bit of olive GREEN OLIVE TAPENADE with crackers for a treat..
(I used basil instead of cilantro... )

Or maybe a wee walk to the beach..
Love hearing the waves when I go to sleep but right now the tide is way out until after midnight..
But in a bit it will be coming in at ten or so again.. smile

Our oldest son and grandsons are heading to New Hampshire for the Nascar race this weekend..

Such busy times..

Well, dear hearts I pray you have a wonderful weekend..
Thanks for dropping by and leaving your little notes..

Talk to you soon..
Hugs..

  2. Lovely photos, the pitch on the roof sure is steep!. Mine is almost the same but only one story, not two. We need a new roof too. The summer is going on by, life is precious. I made strawberry cake for a funeral family at church. We enjoyed a good watermelon and cantaloupe too. Just tastes of summer. It's good! Hope you're having a great week. I love the kitchen photo! Hugs!

  7. Hi Faye...Jim says Terry is getting to be a real pro with all these roofs he is doing over the last couple of years. It's hard work though. I say - Please be extra careful!

Faye, I can see you have been tweaking the cottage and it looks just wonderful! I wish I was tweaking a few things around here! Time goes by so fast. I love all the things that you move here or there to make it look so cozy and relaxing! I am glad your friend Pam, and her husband were there to visit. And listen to me.....You be proud of your preserves even if a famous chef bought them. I'm sure they are the best preserves around. You never know...he may be calling you about them! Wouldn't that be something?

Glad you are enjoying your summer.

Peace and Grace..... and Blessing for Terry on that steep roof,
    S.

  9. Hi Faye, Your cottage looks so beautiful and cozy! I haven't been able to access my google account so have not been able to post a comment on your blog in awhile, but I have been a faithful follower and truly enjoying! I was wondering if your shop is usually open on Mondays? Continue to love life, enjoy your family and friends. I hope you have a great weekend and meet all kinds of people.

  10. That is a funny story of the top chef. When you don't watch T.V. or are addicted to the media it would be easy not to know a celebrity if you happened to meet one. Your husband sure is handy!

  11. Oh my. I would feel like disappearing into the floor if that happened to me Faye! So funny though. I bet he just loved your instructions. Perhaps they were something he didn't know at all. :) I love the glimpses inside your summer home. It looks lovely and cozy. We've had great weather this past week haven't we? Our family is winging their way back to Alberta this morning and my heart is empty and aches so for them. I wish they lived closer but that is where they have to be for now. Take care and enjoy this beautiful summer weather. Hugs, Pam

  14. I could not do the roof thing. I DO NOT like being up high. He seems to be enjoying it though. Enjoy your day and God bless.
