Right now it's mostly things around the house to say goodbye to summer and welcome in the fall. We just cleaned up our garden beds (no more tomatoes) and I cleaned out the chicken coop and added lots of fresh bedding to keep them warm. We have to mow the lawn one last time soon as well. Fall is definitely here! I never learned to can and I have always thought that food setting on shelves in canning jars was a reflection of love and warmth. They show the kindheartedness of the woman of the house and her love of family.
As I say good-bye, I am going to take a deep breath and imagine how wonderful your bread must smell.
Keep Smiling,
Your blogging sister, Connie :)
Conniehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08187302890702147585noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7433846042098871441.post-77253925638087520462013-10-22T09:03:00.455-07:002013-10-22T09:03:00.455-07:00I wonder if they make a candle that smells like br...I wonder if they make a candle that smells like bread baking? I would buy it if they did. Nothing smells better than coming in from the cold to smell freshly baked bread. Well, maybe a big old pot of soup simmering away on the stove. I did bring out the wool blankets...change the sheets, flipped mattresses...was nice sleeping last night "snug as a bug in a rug." Your food looks so good - your daughter is following in your footsteps - using her talents as a ministry. I'm in charge of a Thanksgiving project for smaller kids at my brother's little church. I am also doing a Christmas craft project the the kids to take with us to carol at the nursing home. I was thinking of making popsicle stick angels. The weather has been so nice that I still haven't tossed my summer flowers yet. They are still blooming. Well, the impatiens to too chilled last night so I had to throw them out. I think it's the longest I've kept them. We haven't put in our patio furniture yet either and I barbecued salmon for supper tonight. I hope this nice weather continues for a few more weeks don't you? Oh, Murray washed the outside of the windows on Saturday and all the leaves are gone off the trees so they are raked and bagged or put on the garden. Take care and have a good week.Pamela Gordonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18071092617682650349noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7433846042098871441.post-44053665866265403222013-10-21T17:44:23.720-07:002013-10-21T17:44:23.720-07:00I, too, want to try the no knead bread.
