Another Stormy Sunday...

Good Evening, my dears..
So glad to welcome you to the Blessed Hearth tonight..

First of all thank you so much for your prayers and thoughts on the last post.. So appreciate you all..

We had a very stormy day yesterday (Sunday) and all through the night..
I believe it is our worst storm thus far this Winter..
We were blessed to be able to get to church before the storm hit..

Storm days are nice and cozy so long as you are home and don't have to go out..
And if you aren't concerned about your children out on the highways..
I was glad when they were all home ..
Our hydro stayed on, too, thank the Lord..
In the afternoon I made a apple dessert..
It was nice for Sunday supper...
The recipe is HERE..
She used berries but I used apples..
Quite good, actually..

The wind howled all through the night and the doors this morning were blocked with snow..
Sammi was not too keen on going out at first.. smile..

Today I did some housework and worked on Keepers..
Getting ready for our next meeting which is the first Saturday in March..
We are going to learn how to make the no knead bread along with several other activities..
I like to squeeze in as much home things in as possible..

Thank you for your lovely visit and comments..

Have a wonderful week..
God bless..

  1. Lovely photos ! Oh that cobbler you made looks YUMMY ! Thanks for sharing the recipe . We have had lots of sunshine but it has had that biting cold wind with it , yesterday at 5pm it snowed for and hour but the sun has melted it and some of what was left before . Tomorrow it is to be a rain snow mix and a bit warmer . I am done with winter now come on spring lol ! Have a good evening !

  2. Oh, dear Faye, your pictures remind me of last weekend here in Maine! We did get the wind from Sunday's storm...in fact, as I sit here tonight typing this... the wind is still howling outside! But we didn't get quite as much snow as last weekend. It certainly has been a snowy February! Stay warm, dear friend!

    Sweet blessings,
    Laura

  3. Hi Faye, Your apple dessert looks scrumptious! I like cooking and baking with apples because it seems I always have apples on hand. So far, we have not had the bad winter here that we have had in past years. We get blizzards and then the next day it is melting. It has been cold and that is what I don't like the most. But it has not been that bad and before you know it ...it will be spring and we will be planting the vegetables and the flowers. That is what I love...although I mostly "boss" now!

Have a good night and I wish you well with organizing your "Keepers" meeting. (I loved it when you had the online Keepers stuff for us out here.)

  5. Faye, those pictures are amazing. So pretty. We were in the mountains of TN on vacation for the last few days and woke Saturday morning to a few snow flurries. So tiny you couldn't capture them on camera and we were thrilled just to see those few flakes. Poor little Darbee Rae got so excited. You would have gotten a good laugh at us southern folks!! {smile}. Glad you are all safe and didn't loose power. That pie looks delicious. Have a good week

  7. It's so beautiful to look at... all of that snow, but I know from living on the Canadian border for years that after awhile you just want it all to melt! I hope you're staying warm, your photos are gorgeous!
    Have a great week!

  9. You got quite a bit of snow! And your dessert looks fabulous!
We have been experiencing blizzard conditions for the last 24 hours, we got six or eight inches of snow as well, it is going to be -40 with windchill tomorrow! Wow, it's been quite the winter for all of us!
Perhaps I need to make your apple dessert tomorrow, that should get us through the storm. :) The bad part is that my hubby is out driving in this wind and snow... thank God I know how to pray.
    Hugs, Cindy

  10. the dessert looks so good.
    the snow photos are beautiful.
we will get snow / rain mix tonight.
the wind was gusting so hard, it was blowing my boy's old heavy truck around as he came home from work late tonight. he said it was moaning, and groaning as it pushed that heavy old thing down the mountain. glad when he got here. life in the mountains, you get the mixed bag of all kinds of weather.
cold, but the robins are already gathering in the grass together, spring is coming soon.
    hugs and blessings!

  11. Great photos Faye. We complain over here when we get an inch or so of snow, we should be ashamed! And take notes from the Canadians; you all know how to handle snow :) Your pudding looks wonderful, warmed me up just looking at it, yum. Looking forward to hearing about your Keeper's meeting...I like looking at all of your wonderful ideas on your Pinterest board for the meetings :)
    With love, Carly xx

  17. Beautiful photos of your snowy yard! It was a doozey for sure and there's another on the way for tomorrow. I don't know, but I think we've had enough snow this month already don't you? I hope we don't get wind with this next one. The sky is clouding up a bit now and the breeze is picking up but it was a lovely sunny day all the same. Stay cozy!

  20. Faye,
These snow pictures made my heart sing! I don't see the snow that often living here in sunny California unless we go up in the mountains. I would love to one day wake up in the morning and open my front door to a blanket of snow....how glorious that would be. Apple desserts are a favorite on cold winter days. This one looks so yummy. Stay warm, my friend.

  21. Your photographs are so beautiful! For me, someone living in Texas, the snow looks unbelievable! How fortunate you are to live somewhere that you can actually "see" the seasons. :-)
