Good Evening my dears..
Welcome to the Blessed Hearth tonight..
Spring is such a glorious month and there is no place I would rather be then right here in good old New Brunswick..
You all know me..
I am not a traveller.. smile
Today we were on our way to a Home Going service of a wonderful sister in the Lord and it was a beautiful drive so I thought I would take a few pics..
The lovely Belleisle Bay which has flooded due to the heavy rains over the weekend...
Spied the sweet chickens...
Not very clear but they are there.. White ones..
Such a gorgeous bay of water..
Flooding as you can see but the roads were fine..
Grass is greener on the other side perhaps? smile..
Next winter's wood..
I don't even want to think about it.. grin..
.Plenty of spring chores to do on these farms..
My favourite farm animal..
Love love sheep..
I am hoping one of my kids will read this and plan to put all of their money together and buy me one for Mother's Day..
I told Terry and he said ... no....
Oh well...
I can dream.. smile..
Really..
He is lucky that I don't want one of these...
Right? grin..
Look at the horns on that thing..
Elk... I think..
There is a farm of them near Sussex..
A simply beautiful farm...
I wonder what he is looking at...
Dreams of yesterday...
So sad when these old barns fall down...
But still lovely...
Back to Sussex...
The Dairy town of New Brunswick...
Do you spy the Canadian flag there?
Hope you all enjoyed this..
Thank you so much for dropping by ...
I do look forward to hearing from you.. I am sorry I have not been very faithful blogging lately but like everyone else we have been busy with stuff..
Will post a bit of our doings next time, Lord willing..
Take care and God bless..
This is one of my favourite verses..
2 Corinthians 5:1
For we know that when this earthly tent we live in is taken down (that is, when we die and leave this earthly body), we will have a house in heaven, an eternal body made for us by God himself and not by human hands.
So thankful for the hope we have in Christ..
Some glad day...
xo
Your pics are lovely. Nice farm country. We are having a lot of flooding here in the Gaspe.
ReplyDeleteI've never been to Sussex. I plan to go in August one yr. and visit that huge garage sale I hear so much about.
Does Barbours Co. still exist. I like their products. They seem to be disappearing in the stores here. I found their peanut butter in Campbellton. N.B.
Have a good week. I always enjoy your blog posts. xo
You live in a beautiful place, even the Walmart looks charming! Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteGod bless!
Such lovely photos. I love the sheep photos, they look so peaceful and pastoral. Long ago I used to collect photos of barns... I love yours. Have a great week!
ReplyDeleteFaye I feel the same way about goats as you do about sheep. :)
ReplyDeleteDear Faye,
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely road trip, beautiful scenery...love the pics!
Love Ya,
Char
Hello Faye, Everyone is so busy this year!!! We are getting ready for graduation from high school for the two grandkids. Also, the planning of their graduation parties. Mother's Day our kids and their families will be coming here for a light brunch. And a week from Saturday is the last Prom for our granddaughter - Tori. We are invited with Tori's friends and their parents and grandparents to Tori's house for a get together before the prom. (My daughter and son-in-law are always having things like this.) The weather has been terrible here. Creeks, streams and lakes are all very high......much higher . So no gardening is getting done here. I am so happy to see your wonderful pictures. You DO take the best ones. I love the shape of the old small barn. The red barn with the silver roof looks similar to our barns on our farm. The sheep are the cutest, aren't they. I used to love to bottle feed a lamb that my Dad would bring to the house and want us to feed in the room off the garage that was all nice and warm. A long time ago, when we moved to this house....I told Jim we needed a pony for the grand kids. Afterall, I knew how to take care of it and we have the land out back here - - - - Jim said -NO! So I guess I know what you mean. I hope this week is filled with many blessings for you, Terry and your family. I love the scripture that you wrote today. XO

Hi again, I was just leaving and saw your recipe for popsicles and because I have a 2 1/2 year old grandson....I thought I would check it out. And then to my surprise, I came to where you printed the poem - "Plant A Garden" by Edgar Guest. (July6, 2011). I do enjoy that poem. I read it again with much joy. Thank you, Dear!
ReplyDeleteWhat beautiful countryside you have nearby. We don't have barns like that in England, yours are so attractive. Flooding must be a worry to the local farmers.
ReplyDeleteDid I see a LLama in one photo, looking over a fence??
Faye I love seeing what your area looks like. I heard on our Aussie news that there was a lot of flooding over there. It all looks lovely and green. Thanks for the tour.
ReplyDeleteHi Faye, I love what you do. I was trying to figure out where you were when you took the picture of walmart and to me it seems it was McGregor Brook rd.??? maybe. it looks so familiar as I grew up in Roachville and never see many pics taken of that area. I may be wrong. but your pics and story are wonderful anyway. xo
ReplyDeleteHello Gwen.. Yes, you are right and that was taken on the hill coming into Sussex as we came through Mt. Middleton (where we used to live) and out the McGregor Brook Road... I didn't know you grew up there..Take care, dear girl.. xo
DeleteBeautiful even the flooding...which we have had here in here in Western NY. Thank you for sharing...have a lovely day, friend.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful pictures. Lovely farms and farm animals, and yes,.. those are elk :)
ReplyDeleteWe have an elk farm next to us, and elk are such fun to watch.
Massive animals, and yet they have a beauty and gentle grace about them.
Have a lovely rest of your week, dear lady.

It was lovely to take this little tour with you, such a beautiful tour filled with wonder.
ReplyDeleteOh Faye...sheep is truly my favorite farm animal next to chickens :D what a lovely visit ... mari
ReplyDeleteJust a truly lovely post!
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed the photos.
Such a treat, spring time!
I enjoyed the scripture.
Very comforting indeed!
I enjoyed all of the beautiful pictures here, Faye. I loved your husband's response to your desire for sheep. I laughed out loud when I read that. My husband's response would have been the same, as he grew up on a farm that had sheep as part of the farm animals...a lot of sheep...and he knows how they act and smell, etc. Do you think it is a man thing? hahaha
ReplyDeleteLOL... It could be a man thing, Dianna.. I will give him the benefit of the doubt, though and say it is because he does not want to bring them home with us in the Fall.. lol.... Thanks for dropping by my friend.. xo

DeleteYour pictures are just beautiful & I enjoyed looking at them...so serene. Also a wonderful scripture full of hope & promise!
ReplyDeleteAnita ~ the cabin on the creek
That's for the journey via car and camera. It's not baa-aad to like sheep. I grew up with sheep as well....interesting creatures. I liked the lambs. Sorry for the earthly loss of you friend but heaven is waiting for all of us. I'm glad I have my ticket! Some glad morning, when this life is o'er, I'll fly away. To a home on God's celestial shore, I'll fly away....God bless!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful photos, beautiful post :)
