Hello my friends..
Another Monday has rolled around and we are that much closer to Christmas Day... Terry and I are in for a very busy week..
Our little supper party for the Keepers of the Home is on Saturday night along with a Ladies Night out and a Family Christmas Gathering with our Church family.. They all take place this week..
I managed to get the kitchen and family room decorated over the weekend..
I thought I would show you the main kitchen wall..
Looking through the rusty bells..
They hang on the chandelier..
Here is a better view.. smile..
I told you in a previous post that this is the first time I have decorated with Santa for many years..
Shonda and her family gave me this Santa last year for Christmas..
I needed something long to fit that spot and I thought he looked great sooooo... The kitchen is decorated with santas this year..
I love the nativity and the fact that Christmas is about Christ is my focus.. I try to put the nativity wherever I can ... But for this year there is a bit more Santa than usual.. smile..
Anyway, onward with the wall..
You have to admit that he is kinda cute.. She bought him at a craft show so he is homemade and prim..
I really like him..
Some fresh boughs and candles and antique cookie cutter...
An old reindeer cutter made from old tin...
And an old star cookie cutter with a green handle..
Just a bit of greenery and berries added to the bowl display..
Well, girls that is all I have for tonight..
I will be sure to show more later on .. Today, I finished cleaning out all of the cupboards and decluttering them..
I managed to get rid of a whole box and a garbage bag full of stuff.. Yeah!!
While I was cleaning out the cupboard where I keep paper stuff I came across and old photo of Dustin (our youngest) and me..
I figure that it was taken about ten years ago.. Both of us have aged... smile.. He is much more mature and so am I ... grin..
Terry told me to put this on but he told me not to say how old it was.. grin..
Oh well, as my Mom always says ... time and tide wait for no man..
The last ten years have surely flown..
We are that much closer to the coming of our Lord..
Just any day now...
God bless you all and have a grand week..
I will try to get back to you soon..
Looking so forward to hearing from you all..
Hugs..
Beautiful photos Faye : ) Blessings, Shirlee

ReplyDeleteYour kitchen is so pretty Faye! That beautiful photo is so precious. It's always fun to look at old photos and all the memories they bring.
ReplyDeleteDear Faye,
ReplyDeleteIt's nice to meet you. I was introduced by Kendra and I told her that I wanted your potpourri recipe and your English Muffin bread recipe and she came through for me!
You did a lovely job with your decorating, the greens in the boxes I love. You gave me an idea of what to do with my antique chocolate molds. I have some Santas, a Snowman, teddy bear, some other animals, bunnies, chicks, lamb.
I'm so happy to be here and to follow you along on your journey.
Warm Holiday Wishes,
Susan Burns

ReplyDeleteNot only is the Santa from Shonda the right size and shape for that part of the wall, he add a wonderful splash of prim cheer and color! I LOVE him but as you say Christ's miraculous birth is the main focus!

Dear Faye,
ReplyDeleteI stumbled across your blog while visiting my friend, Melanie's. I'm just in love with your decorations! Your house feels so "homey"...I just want to stop by for a cup of tea! I'm coming back to visit again soon...it looks like we have much in common!
Sweet blessings,
Laura
Your kitchen looks lovely, I enjoy seeing your Primitive Country style. Your Santa is very sweet, I like Santas, but I don't use him much, I'm always afraid someone with say something. He was a very good man and I love the story that surrounds him...we left cookies out for him when I was a kid and we knew it was our dad. I have one Santa out, it's in my bathroom.:)
ReplyDeleteI love the rusty bells on the chandelier and the photo of you and your son is very sweet. We are all getting older and closer to either going to meet our Savior or to His return. I can't wait!!!
Hugs, Cindy
I agree with you about the REAL center of our Christmas decor, and used to always have more nativity items than santa's.....however.......
ReplyDeletemy Mom was a santa person and had a nice collection. When she passed away a few years ago, I inherited the santas . The first year, I left them in their boxes, but I could hear them shouting and felt guilty....sooooo......I have put them out every year since...in her beautiful hutch....and everyone is happy again :^)
Blessings to you,
J
