Autumn Days ......

Hello there dear hearts..
How are you?  We are fine here and enjoying our lovely Autumn days here in Eastern Canada...
Our leaves are turning although I really don't have a pic on here today...

So sorry I am always so late getting back but truthfully this has been a very busy fall for me..
I know it is for everyone but let's just say I am much slower now..
But really still so enjoy the fall process...
I hope to be like my Mom and keep on doing as long as possible..
She was much older than I am now and was still jamming it up.. lol..

Saw this guy on one of our drives..
He has a nice long beard!
Probably started it during the pandemic...😉
just a few pics of the canning process that went on...

Really enjoyed it all although my house now needs a make over or Molly Maid or what have you..
I now have to pick my priorities and go with it each day..
Regardless of what others do... I find I have to do what is right for us..
With the price of groceries soaring I am quite sure I will not regret it..
But that is as it is...

We did take time for a little trip to Bangor, Maine..
So much fun!
Got to visit a couple of my fave stores although I could really see a difference as we had not been there for three years..
Still enjoyed it though.... 💕💕

a few food pics ....

And this old recipe I think I shared with you before...

have been reading a wonderful book for the second time by
Laura Franz called  An Uncommon Woman....
So good... It really gets me into the pioneer days.. lol..
She is one of my favourite authors..
Especially, her earlier books..
I love reading them twice so that says something!
Of course, at my age now it only takes me a couple of years to forget it and read it again as if for the first time..
I so love to read... Always have..
We grew up without a television in our home and I believe it is one of the best things that our parents ever did for us...
My sister and I both turned to books and have loved them since we could read..
A wonderful thing to do for your children in this day in my opinion...
Of course the same can be said for their phones, etc..
Sorry my dears...
Just an old grandmother who can still state her opinion here on the world wide web... lol..

My dear husband picked me some rose hips the other day....
I made Crabapple and RoseHip jelly..
Also saving some for tea and rosehip oil for my old wrinkles.. 😉

We celebrated Thanksgiving here in Canada the first of October ...
It was one of those weekends where one was working, one travelling and so on ...
So it was for us a day at our son's and a day at our daughter's...

So much going on at Trevor's that I forgot to take a pic... so dumb...
Had such a lovely meal and all of his family were there..
Darlings.... everyone!!
then the next day at Shonda's

It was a wonderful time, too....
Celebrated two birthdays and some were so happy looking forward to a trip in the near future..
The pic is worth a thousand words.. lol..
. 😀😀

Missed this dear son so much...
He sure lives in a beautiful place, though..
God love him... 💗

Home.....

a little fall project in needle felting that I haven't finished yet...
And now the fall mornings with the incense going ...
Tis more of a fall and winter thing...
Incense.. love it..

Thank you sweet friends for dropping by today..
I look forward to hearing from you all..

Please take care and trust the Lord in these last days..
He is coming soon..
Our Awesome God..

Love you guys...
Praying for you..
God bless...

  3. Hi Faye, Happy Fall! You sure have been busy with all your canning. We did quite a bit too and froze some things I also made crab apple jelly. All that work will have been worth it when the cold and snow arrives. Your food always looks so good. Hope you have a good week. Cheryl

  5. How busy you have been. Canning is not something that is done much in UK but it must be lovely to have a pantry full of beautiful jars.

  6. A lovely post, Faye. Your family gatherings looked so warm and comfortable. I am glad that your family is near. You have certainly been busy in the canning department. I don't do much of it, mostly freezing, as we don't seem to eat many pickles or jams. You are right about the price of food, it is so high. Thank goodness for the garden.

  8. I loved this dear Faye! The photos are wonderful. Not sure what was mixed up together to can in that one photo but it made me long for summer veggies again. The jars all look wonderful, I was a little surprised to see that much headspace in your tomato jars. Everything looked so appealing. The bread alway does me in, I want a warm piece when ever you show a loaf. Your family photos are always wonderful, also a couple of cute Mickey Mice there!
I do hope you have a terrific rest of October, this is my favorite month. I love all the colors especially. Annie
