Tuesday after Christmas....

Good Evening to one and all..
Just dropping by for a short chat tonight.. It is almost bedtime..
I wanted to show you a pic that I took a couple of weeks ago of my precious Dolphin plant... I posted a pic several months ago and it only had one bloom.. This time there were two..

There was a third bud but it did not bloom..
Anyway, this plant has taken me a couple of years to even get it to grow this big.. I love the thing, though.. grin..

Today was another lovely day.. My husband loves going shopping for Boxing Day sales every year.. Today was no exception and we were up quite early and headed into the city..
My, what crowds of people .. Not really my cup of tea but we only went to a few shops.. I did find a few great thrift store deals as the Christmas trims had 75 percent off..
We went out for lunch to my favorite place..
East Side Mario's.... It is not Terry's  fave but I really appreciated it.. I think maybe I should have been born in Italy.. grin..
The meal was delicious.. Italian Wedding Soup... yuuummmm...

After we arrived home Terry got ready and went up to our old farm.. He made a fire and worked at heating the old house  up for tomorrow.. We are going up for the whole day tomorrow.. Lord willing... smile..
Here is a pic of some old dishes that we have up there..

A dear old sister in our church gave this set to me a few years ago and I cherish them...
We will be eating a couple of meals there so I need to get up early and pack up some food..
Terry has some carpenter work to do and I always have a great time reading and cooking..
I putter around arranging the old stuff that we have up there...
Nothing valuable at all but old fashioned..
This old farm used to belong to my Dad's sister and I can just imagine her going there as a young bride..Bless her heart..

Last year about this time it looked like this...

This year though the driveway is still clear..
Anyway, I hope you are all getting rested after the busy time..
I will try and take a few pics of our day tomorrow and post them after we get home.. OK?

I miss my kids tonight.. It is always like that after they have all been home and then go back to their own places and their own lives..
That is mainly why Terry thinks we should go up there for the day..
It relaxes both of us and we enjoy each other's company.. That is good thing as all there are up there are hills and coyotes.. grin..
Just kidding... There are many lovely neighbors.. we just can't see them..smile..

Have a blessed evening..
Hugs..

The blossoming of my Dolphin Plant...

Good Morning everyone...
Do you see my wonderful Dolphin Plant.  It finally BLOOMED !!!
I have been watching and waiting for weeks...
I posted about it here..
It took so long but it finally happened.
As I told you before and old gentleman in St. Martins gave this wee slip to me so long ago..
It nearly died and then with only 4 wee leaves it decided to grow...
I love it..
In my mind this whole time I have been thinking of a comparison between the way I have been nurturing this plant and the way that God must nurture us..

We are the same in a way.. Sometimes we start out growing for God so many times as a wee little slip.. We get our roots and grow and seem to thrive and then along comes the enemy of our souls and we allow him to all but kill us off..
Something else takes our minds off of HIM..
We stop praying and putting Him first in our lives.. Other things are more important than Jesus...
We shrivel up and lose ourselves to the world.. Barely holding on...
But Jesus still loves us..
Then one day something clicks in our lives.
We finally look toward Him, Jesus Christ our Lord.. and something takes a hold in our growth.  We grasp on and we look upward to our Hope..We desire a closer walk with Him..
We realize we NEED Jesus and we begin  following the Word of God and we start praying.
We repent and He forgives us.. Thank you, Jesus..
And then we bud... we grow daily in Him and someday by the grace of God we will bloom...
Don't you love Jesus?
I am so thankful today for his love and nurturing.. Each morning His mercy is renewed for us.. Imagine!!  Every morning when I pray I imagine that new slate of mercy being renewed with the sunrise...
Lamentations 3: 22, 23..
Great is His faithfulness..
It is only His grace and mercy that will bring us through..

Have you ever heard that song? It is on YouTube and every time we sing it at church it so blesses my heart.

Your Grace And Mercy brought me through...
I am living this moment because of You..
I want to thank You and praise You, too..
For Your grace and mercy brought me through..
Thank you, Jesus....

Jesus is coming soon... so soon.  The world can see it today.. Not just Christians who have been looking for so long but the signs are everywhere..
Let us grow and thrive and look for His return with joy in our hearts knowing that soon oh very soon we shall see our King..
Have a blessed day... dear ones...
Until next time..
Blessings..

A Little Spring Outing....

Happy Monday Morning.....

I trust you all had a good weekend... We had some heavy rain and wind but some sun, too.... A perfect Spring weekend, I guess..

Terry and I went up to our old farm for awhile on Friday.

I thought I would take a few pics and show you what it is like here in an Eastern Canadian province.
New Brunswick..

There are lots of deer in the fields all along the way..

Old buildings that have weathered another Canadian Winter...
I wonder how old this one is.....
The rivers and brooks are full ... There is still some snow scattered here and there along their banks...
Every time we go to the farm I look for this guy...

He lives along the river and is quite gorgeous, I think...

Here are some of his friends who live with him..
Last Fall when we went by I was sure the turkey must have been saved for Christmas.. smile...
I guess not... He is still there... When I got out of the car to take their pics they all came up to the fence and the turkey was complaining loudly the whole time.... lol...
Lots of goats but only one donkey...
They were so friendly..  I think they must have good owners.
The further up in the hills we went the more snow there was... Most of the fields are bare but the hills are still covered.
We thought we would go up and stay for a few days this week but we decided it is still a bit cold so we will wait another week or two..
I should have taken a pic of the old farm but you have all seen it in previous postings, I am sure..
Anyway... our back yard had a lot of these holes...

Terry said they were all underneath the snow..
Moles???
We have never seen this before but I think they must have been tunnels all made by mice or moles.....
I guess they have all left for their summer homes now, though... smile..
I should have taken pics of pussy willows and the red dogtooth growing along the ditches.... We are much slower than a lot of you readers who live South of us but we will catch up soon.. smile...
Well, I hope you enjoyed this little posting..

This is the dreaded TAX WEEK.... sigh....

I thought I would show you a dear wee plant that I have been nurturing for almost two years..
An old gentleman in St. Martins gave me a slip of his plant.  He called it the Dolphin Plant.

I brought it home and rooted it .. That took weeks to do..
Then I planted it and it blossomed even though it was quite small.
A beautiful red dolphin flower... So sweet.

Then when I brought it home from the cottage it almost died and was down to four leaves... Oh dear:)

But I have tended it and watched it and watered it and it has taken off again..
Now we again have a bud... Thank you, Lord.
When the blossom comes out in a day or two I will show it to you again...

Have a good Monday my dears and will get back to you soon..

Love to you all and God Bless...
