A little request on this Summer's evening...

Happy Friday my dears..

Hope you have a great weekend..

We are not planning anything...
Terry and Sammi are back from home and here at the cottage again... smile..

I expect to open the shop tomorrow..
I just made a batch of fudge to sell..
It has been requested... grin...

The Summer is passing so quickly...

The time of delicious salads...
Some made with pasta, olives, sweet onions, tomatoes and some freshly made pesto and lemon ... yum mm....

The days of having doors wide open and the breezes blowing through will soon be over..

I like the Fall but I love the Summer..
So, I am not in a hurry to see it end..
Which is your favorite season?

My dear husband brought me the nicest treat today and I cooked them up for Supper...

Samphire greens... The best there is in my opinion..

They grow out in the salty marshes and taste a bit like the sea..
You peel them off of the branches and swoop them into your mouth..
Lovely... smile...

I know it does not take much to make some people happy.. grin..

The evening is drawing to a close here at our old summer cottage..

I am thankful for health and strength today..

Kind of had a wild ride to the hospital in an ambulance this morning..
A few chest pains and such yesterday..
Checked with my dear daughter the nurse this morning  and ended up calling the Telecare line and they were quite sure I should go..

Oh joy...

Anyway, the good news is that everything seems fine and I need to go when I first get the pain next time..

Praying that there will not be a next time..

My sweet father was gone in a heartbeat when he was younger than I am now..
So, they all thought I had better check it out..

I am fine, though thanks to the good Lord..

I think the fact that I had to go in the ambulance caused more stress than the chest pain.. smile..

All is well that ends well.. Right?

Before I go....

I was wondering if any of you would have a recipe for Arrowroot Bars that take arrowroot cookies, chocolate chips and condensed milk..

I had one years ago and can not find it...

The old stove here has no oven and when we are expecting company I would like to make something on the stove top...

I would appreciate it if you could send it to me...

Isn't God good?
It is so great to know that all is well with my soul...

Take care dear hearts..
I am doing my best to respond to each comment..
Aren't your proud of me? grin...

God bless..

  1. Faye, I am glad you went to check it out. Maybe you should go for a physical soon, too. I used to eat Arrowroot cookies when I was a child, a company called Nabisco made them. I never heard of cookies like you describe. Keep feeling healthy and strong, and I hope you get lots of visitors to the shop. Take good care - xo

  4. Dearie...you scared me! I did not know what you were going to say after I read that you took a ride in an ambulance this morning!!! I am so glad you went to get this checked out. They would not let you go home if your were not okay. As far as the arrowroow cookies? No I do not have a recipe for them. They sound good, though. I do not want summer to end but we can smell it in the air here the last few days. The rooms in your cottage are delightful and I love the tricycle with the geraniums. I am so glad you are okay and that Terry is back with you.

  9. Sounds as though you had quite an eventful day...I'm so glad you're alright. And how sweet of your husband to bring you a surprise. I've never heard of the greens you mentioned, but I'm amazed by the abundance and variety of edible things our wonderful Creator provided for us.:) Your pasta salad looks really yummy, and your house looks so warm and cozy. I think my favorite seasons are spring and fall. Probably because I live in the south where summers are very hot!

    Blessings,

  14. Oh my goodness Faye I am catching up on blogs this morning and just read your and I am so glad you are okay...very scary and I hope your feeling better.

I thought those were green beans when I first looked at the picture. What do they taste like?

I like Summer better and I think it is because of all the flowers and green leaves and enjoying my porch.

  19. Faye...I was sorry to read that you had a trip to hospital, but it was the right thing to do; glad to hear you're ok and are also getting some tests done. If you dont find the recipe for the arrowroot cookies...have you looked online? I've heard of them before. I am holding onto summer as long as I can; its my favourite season...I'm not fond of the cold - even tho the snow is so pretty and I love Christmas but all winter long look forward to summer. Keeping you in my prayers.

Greetings from Avonmore.I had some spare time this evening,so I decided to indulge myself in a wee visit to see what you have been up to.Needless to say what I found was indeed disturbing. Was so thankful to learn that you were back home and that you are having things checked out.
Might you be "burning the candle at both ends?"
I was speaking to a couple of friends about taking a trip to St.Martins. It is about time for another "House of Henry" fix.I will call first.
Praying that all will go well with your tests.

I'll get some tomorrow and tell you what I think of them. Do I cook them the same as garden beans? We are hoping to get out to St. Martins for a visit before the summer is over.
