Midsummer ...

Hello everyone..
Hope you all had a great weekend..

Just sharing some pics of the last few days..
So hard to believe that August is here and Summer is half over..
It seems such a short season here in Maritime Canada..
I love this one and always try to hold onto it by the shirt tail.. grin..

I have made a few more batches of jams..
Raspberry and more strawberry ones..
Also some banana breads and a recipe I concocted for Mango Coconut muffins...
I will try and give you the recipe next time as tonight it is late and I just wanted to check in with you all..

So blessed to go home this past weekend...
I had not been home for six weeks although Terry gets there quite often..
It felt so good to be there and sleep in our water bed...smile.
And attend our own church..
Our grandsons were quite surprised when we walked in ..
We are enjoying going to church with our daughter's family, of course but there is no place like home, eh?

Terry picked me a bunch of Queen Anne's Lace in Moncton when we went in after church for dinner..
Another batch of jelly coming up tomorrow, hopefully..

We arrived back here in St. Martins about noon and I opened the shop.. About an hour later we had a huge rain storm..
My... did it ever rain and then the sun came out..
The weather is so different this year, eh?

Well, dear hearts this is all for tonight..
So glad to meet those of you who have stopped by the shop..

Just think ...
In about five or six weeks we will be going home..
I always start looking forward to that about this time of year;
when the Poor Man's Orchid comes in bloom..
They are the ones around the bird feeder..
You can only find them here in St. Martins area but I took some home a few years ago and they just pop up everywhere.. smile.

Take care and thanks so much for stopping by..
God bless...

A drive down Old Black River Road...

Good Evening my dears..
It is another foggy night here in St. Martins.. Inland it has been hot but here we have cool temps and fog..
Gotta love it..
I told someone the other day that I love the fog and the rain and wind.. They laughed... They thought I was joking.. grin..
Well, some of the time I do but I am ready for a lovely sunny day which is forecast for tomorrow.. The Lord's Day..
Just thought I would take you for a little evening spin down Old Black River Road which runs along the side of the Bay of Fundy..
I f I picked you up at the airport we could take this little scenic drive on the way here... eh, PAULA  ?
grin....
Like I said it is foggy here tonight but the Bay is out there...
The largest tides in the world.. Oh, I know I tell you girls that every time.. smile..
Lots of little streams run into the Bay..

Lots of grassy fields and notice how the grass is turning color already.. sigh..
Pastures and cows and golden rod growing along the banks of the Bay.. That it is out there under the sky..
My grandmother grew up here on Old Black River Road.. She used to walk to school and church here...Her old homestead still stands..Her sister just died a couple of months ago at the wonderful age of 105.. Amazing, eh?
A long time ago..
A little place called Tynemouth Creek..
See the old boat over there..

A little old dock for fishing boats..
So funny... Terry and I grew up a couple of hours away but here in this little place his first cousin lives on one hill and my first cousin lives diagonally across on the other hill..smile..

Then back here at the cottage the Poor Man's Orchid is growing like crazy..
You can tell by it's height (almost 6 feet in some places) that Summer is nearing it's end and Fall is way too close for me..
I love Summer...
Oh well, like my Mom always says Time and Tide wait for no man..
I wonder where that saying comes from... smile..
Our grandsons  (all 5) are coming tomorrow night for a few  days.. grin..
We love that..

Today a sweet girl and her hubby dropped in..
She is a fellow blogger.. It was so good to meet you in person

Thank you lovely ladies for dropping by and welcome to the new followers of the blog..
I so look forward to reading all your comments..

Aspiring to keep HIM first in our lives..
Love to you all...

Going to the farm....

Good Morning... A very short post today as my husband will be ready to leave soon.   We are going up to our old farm to spend the day.  It needs some cleaning and fixing as we did not spend much time there since Fall.
These pictures were taken before.. There is still snow up in the Kent Hills but it is gone around the house and fields...

This is just an old farm house that my dear Aunt Eva worked in since 1949... Before that they lived in the old house which was torn down after they built this little one.
What a Keeper of the Home that sweet lady was..
Her buttermilk biscuits were wonderful as was their hospitality..

I need to wash all the dishes and floors, etc.  We had a ham for Easter so the remains of that will be turned into a Boiled Dinner.
We have had that meal before up there...
Maybe, some stovetop biscuits on the old wood stove..
We shall see... smile..

Terry has to cut up some wood and I want an herb bed up there.
Last year I planted some chives and a couple of others that came up again.. Thank you, Lord.
I also want to take a shovel full of Poor Man's Orchid up for the back field for the bees.. They so love that plant.
I did a posting on that last summer but I actually forget if it was on this blog or Primitive Lace.
It is raining quite hard though, so that may not get done...

Have a blessed day and I will try and take some pics of our doings in case you would like to see for tomorrow.
I guess I will not be working on the bathroom... smile...
Oh well... it will still be here when I get back..
God Bless..
Hugs...
