Bean Salad Marinade Recipe and An Old Cutlery Idea...

Happy Friday my dears....
Can you believe how quickly this week passed?  I am posting a little recipe for you.. It is very healthy and versatile...

It is a marinade for dried beans..
You can soak the beans such as navy, pea or whatever kind you like overnite.. Then cook them according to the directions on the bag... (or used drained canned ones)
I use the small bag of Great Northern beans...
In the meantime you make this simple marinade.

MARINADE FOR BEANS
6 oz. good oil
4 oz. good vinegar such as cider or red wine
juice of 1 lemon
1 clove garlic, crushed
1 tsp. marjoram
1 tsp. oregano
1 tsp. parsley or chives
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. pepper
You can change the herbs to suit you.. Use fresh or dried..
Whisk this together and pour over the HOT, freshly made and drained beans.
Marinade until cooled.

Drain the marinade in a jar and save.
Use the marinaded beans in salads..

You can keep them in your fridge in a covered jar for at least a week.
I take out about a cup or so at a time and mix with the veggies. This is enough for the two of us as the salad part of our meal..
Add such small chopped veggies as these:
celery, onions, radish, green pepper, and more fresh herbs if desired.  I added fresh parsley....
No extra dressing is needed.. You can use the leftover marinade if you need more, though..

Terry loves this and I keep it in a jar in the fridge and we have it for several little salads during the week..

I wanted to show you one little idea that I found on the web...

Old silver cutlery handles ..
They would be lovely on cupboards or hutches or any little thrift find that needs them..
Just a couple of screws and voila ... handles..
I expect you need to bend them a bit..
Neat,eh?
Well, thank you for visiting.. Enjoy your weekend with your precious familes...
Remember...Jesus loves you ...
Hugs..
Faye..
