Time to go....

Hello everyone..
Hope all is well in your part of the world..
For the first part of my post I would like to wish our sweet daughter, Shonda a very happy birthday..
Seems like only yesterday she was six months old and I was out sheltering her in my coat and walking in the rain.. smile..

Time has flown but how blessed we have been to call her our little girl...
We are thankful to God for her and her sweet family..

And...
Tomorrow is Shonda's birthday but also the final day of the little House of Henry being opened..
I really am not sad to be closing but will miss meeting all of you sweet people...

It has been fun but I am looking forward to enjoying my Summers down here by the Bay of Fundy without worrying about being at the shop..
All good things must come to an end.. smile..

We have been busy doing pickles, pickles, pickles..

Mustards..
Sweet Garlic Dills..
Tomato and Apple Chutney...

Just to mention a few...

Also, we change homes on Monday..

We leave our cottage and it's old kitchen and two floors and go back home..

To once again being all on one floor and some more modern appliances..
I must say I look forward to my dishwasher and more then one bathroom.. smile..
One thing I miss when we move home is the Bay...

So love seeing this at the end of our street and opening the door and smelling the salt water..
I really enjoyed my stay here this Summer more then usual because I was not taken up with the shop..
Looking forward already to next Summer and freedom to putter away down here..

But home beckons us..
Usually, this time of year I can't get back home fast enough but it is a bit bittersweet this time..

I must go through my house and get it fresh and clean as it has been empty now for 3 months..

Doing all the Fall things that we do..
Like visiting this old place..

In the Fall we go here for a day or so a week and enjoy the beautiful Fall weather way back in the country..
I know this is confusing for the new followers of the blog.. smile..
The old farm is our getaway in the Fall and Spring and then we spend the Summer here at the cottage..

We are not a couple who likes to take trips but putter around here and there in our old places..
Nothing fancy but enjoyable for us..

Home is where your heart is and one place our hearts belong is at this little country church...

Although, we enjoyed our Summer our hearts are glad to return to our own church and the precious families who attend there..
God has blessed us with being able to attend church with our daughter in the Summer and then our sons for the rest of the year..

Well, my dears that is all for now..
We move home on Monday and the Internet won't be plugged in again until Thursday so we may not connect again until then..

Thanks so much for visiting and I look forward to hopefully slowing down a bit and checking up on you all more faithfully..

Love your comments and may God bless you ...

Such blessings..

Hello everyone..
How are you all doing?

We have had a couple of lovely days since I last posted..
As you know we were excitedly waiting for our grandsons to show up for an overniter..

And we were so happy when they arrived..
We were waiting for them...
Gramps had bought them each a huge bag of chips and pop for the evening..
We sat around and just enjoyed them for awhile..
Then around ten or so the two of us decided it was bedtime..

As we lie in bed over their heads it sounded like the downstairs was filled people all trying to talk at the same time..
We both were laughing at them as they were enjoying themselves so much..
So nice to have cousins that you love, eh?

They have grown this past year..
Some of them are over 6 feet and look down on their grandfather.. grin.

We told them they could stay up as long as they wanted and they did..
Practically all night but that was fine..
They are young and can handle it.. smile..

The next morning I set the table for breakfast as we waited for them all to get up..

A dozen and a half of eggs, a loaf of bread, jam, a pound of bacon, juice, milk and a huge pan of home fries seem to fill their empty tummies..

Then they did their thing..

Some headed for the beach ...

And some showed up at the shop and helped me grate up some beeswax...

Jared had to go to work so they were picked up in the afternoon..
We had such a good time..

The boys are just darlings and I am not saying that because I am their Grandma..
They just are.. smile..

So ...
Until next Summer I pray that God will continue to bless and keep them safe and happy..
That they follow in His footsteps and make Him their priority...
Soon....
They will be grown up and these sweet days together will just be memories..
Dear memories...
 Thank you, dear Jesus...

This morning Terry and I made more pickles..

Farmer's Pickles..
My first try at them so I will let you know how they turn out..
Here are the recipes from the last post..
Just too much to write.. grin..

Please forgive my hen scratching on my books..

Today was very windy and cool ..
Just like Fall..
I went out on the stoop and enjoyed the wind and drank this while Supper was cooking..

Orange juice, sprite and mint...

Pasta for supper..
Delicious if I must say.. smile..

Tomorrow is our precious daughter's birthday..

Happy Birthday, Sweetheart..
Your parents love and appreciate you very much..
God has blessed us so and we are thankful..

Next Thursday, Friday and Saturday are my closing down sale days..
I will get back to that later..

Thanks so much for your visit and hope I was not too long and boring..

Looking forward to hearing from you sweet girls..
Blessings.. xo

A wee birthday story....

Good Evening sweet friends..
Thank you for dropping by the Blessed Hearth today..

This is a special day in our life..
Terry and I were blessed to have this day for our eldest child's birthday...

You all know our lovely daughter..

Shonda Lynn...

She was born to two very young parents who did not have much knowledge in the raising of a dear little girl..
But... she survived.. grin..

She also has two brothers who love her..
And her own dear family....
A husband who adores her and two sweet lads..

God has been good...
Happy Birthday dear child...

I want to tell you a sweet little story, too..
See this little garden..

I planted it in an old wheel barrel in June when we came down for the Summer..

It already had chives but I planted the pineapple mint, rosemary, stevia and the little yellow rose plant..

Shonda gave me the rose for Mother's Day..
It was in a wee pot and didn't do too well..

So...
I brought it down here and planted it in with the rest..

Today... it bloomed...
Isn't that sweet?

It was almost out yesterday but waited until today to really blossom.. smile...

Just a little blessing from the Lord  along with all the precious things He does for us in the run of a day..smile..

While I was at the shop today I wrapped up one of
Shonda's gifts..

Just used a page from an old book..
A Summer Day..

This is just a little thought for her that I am quite sure she will like..

Ah oh....
Now you all know how old she is..
Don't let on I told you..grin..

Have a blessed evening lovely ladies and I will chat with you soon...
Looking forward to hearing from you all..

Sending you all hugs..
