Another day .. another season.... home again...

Good Morning dear hearts..
Well, here I am back again at home.
A most beautiful word, don't you think?

We had a great time at the farm for the Summer but now another season has started and we are back ...
Although, it was an enjoyable experience for the most part staying at the farm for over 3 months; it is a great feeling to be back home..
The biggest attraction here is our waterbed....

And oh how I have missed thee, too, of course..

On with the story..

Which is not much really..
I did upload a bunch of farm pics last night but was too tired to do the post..
Then this morning I have too much to do but just wanted you to know we are back and I will endeavour to get back into the world of  blogging ..

Really, this is what I wanted to see..
This is for you dear friends....

Just making sure you are still there after all this time..

Hope to read some little notes if you are...

God bless.. xo

Time to go....

Hello everyone..
Hope all is well in your part of the world..
For the first part of my post I would like to wish our sweet daughter, Shonda a very happy birthday..
Seems like only yesterday she was six months old and I was out sheltering her in my coat and walking in the rain.. smile..

Time has flown but how blessed we have been to call her our little girl...
We are thankful to God for her and her sweet family..

And...
Tomorrow is Shonda's birthday but also the final day of the little House of Henry being opened..
I really am not sad to be closing but will miss meeting all of you sweet people...

It has been fun but I am looking forward to enjoying my Summers down here by the Bay of Fundy without worrying about being at the shop..
All good things must come to an end.. smile..

We have been busy doing pickles, pickles, pickles..

Mustards..
Sweet Garlic Dills..
Tomato and Apple Chutney...

Just to mention a few...

Also, we change homes on Monday..

We leave our cottage and it's old kitchen and two floors and go back home..

To once again being all on one floor and some more modern appliances..
I must say I look forward to my dishwasher and more then one bathroom.. smile..
One thing I miss when we move home is the Bay...

So love seeing this at the end of our street and opening the door and smelling the salt water..
I really enjoyed my stay here this Summer more then usual because I was not taken up with the shop..
Looking forward already to next Summer and freedom to putter away down here..

But home beckons us..
Usually, this time of year I can't get back home fast enough but it is a bit bittersweet this time..

I must go through my house and get it fresh and clean as it has been empty now for 3 months..

Doing all the Fall things that we do..
Like visiting this old place..

In the Fall we go here for a day or so a week and enjoy the beautiful Fall weather way back in the country..
I know this is confusing for the new followers of the blog.. smile..
The old farm is our getaway in the Fall and Spring and then we spend the Summer here at the cottage..

We are not a couple who likes to take trips but putter around here and there in our old places..
Nothing fancy but enjoyable for us..

Home is where your heart is and one place our hearts belong is at this little country church...

Although, we enjoyed our Summer our hearts are glad to return to our own church and the precious families who attend there..
God has blessed us with being able to attend church with our daughter in the Summer and then our sons for the rest of the year..

Well, my dears that is all for now..
We move home on Monday and the Internet won't be plugged in again until Thursday so we may not connect again until then..

Thanks so much for visiting and I look forward to hopefully slowing down a bit and checking up on you all more faithfully..

Love your comments and may God bless you ...

Busy Summer Days...

Good Evening, my dears...
So glad to get a chance to chat with you all again..

What a busy time we have been having..
I know... everyone is busy these days..

Anyway...
We needed to go home again so away we went laundry and all on Monday evening...
It was nice to be home and get that started...

Then on Tuesday we went to Moncton to get our truck appointment for a check over done.. We stayed in and visited Dustin as we had not seen him on his birthday..

Then we attended an auction.. I only purchased a couple of things..
A beautiful soap dish, a bird thing and 3 lovely old books..
I was so tired that we left and went home..

We had to get up at the crack of dawn as Terry needed to till the garden and finish the mowing he started when we got home from the auction...
I had to pack stuff... laundry, craft supplies, and stuff for the shop..

Then with cups of coffee and cheese toast in hand we along with Sammi headed for the strawberry fields...

While my dear man picked berries...
I went into Sussex to pick up prescriptions and such..

An hour later I was back and he was almost finished...

Eighteen quarts ready for the jam pot....

One of our dear old pastors was there picking.. I asked him how old he was and said he was 82... Imagine... smile...

The fields surrounding the berries were filled with sheep...

And lots of grains growing...

Wheat blowing in the summer breezes...
Oh, Summer.. you are so lovely....

And this old lone pine tree...
See the cattle eating their hay at the bottom...
I wonder how old this tree is and what it has seen in it's many long years of life..

With the berries packed in the back with everything else we headed to Fredericton again for my appointment ...

Grand Lake ....

Gorgeous, eh?  See the sailboat and cottages along the far shore..
Such a beautiful country we live in..

The Lord has truly blessed us..

Then back to St. John and to the cottage..
Unpacked the truck and just had fresh buns, ham and salad veggies for Supper..
I didn't even check my emails..
Just headed for bed...

Then this lovely morning we cleaned all of the berries, put almost all of our stuff away and I headed for the shop...

I left a note saying I would be open and am so glad I did..
Such a busy afternoon..

I sold an old doll to a sweet girl along with the old baby shoes, a lovely old print and a vintage suitcase..
I told her I thought we had the same taste.. grin...

Then there were several others, too..
Some bought old silver. dishes and a trunk... Some vintage fabrics and an old magazine rack along with homemade pickles, jams and jellies.. A crow picture, saltwater taffy and more...

A very good day...
Thank you, dear Lord for your blessings..

While I was working over there Terry vacuumed and scrubbed through downstairs and cooked the veggies for Supper..
Such a wonderful man I married..
Isn't God good?  smile...

Tomorrow morning I hope to get the jam made...

And thank you for dropping by..
Welcome to the new followers.. So glad you joined the site..

I so appreciated all of your sweet comments last time..
You guys rock... smile..

Sending you all a great big hug...

The pleasure of being Home again..

Hello my dears..
Here I am.... Home... Thank you, Lord...
How are you all tonight?
We finally arrived back here at home last evening.. Bags and baggage... My, what a lot of stuff... And of course, we are still not finished and will have to go back for a day or two to finish up but basically we are moved back HOME... smile..
What is there about a place that just means so much to our hearts?  Last year when we moved home I posted about all the memories that I find when I come back again..
Terry and I are at the age where this house is really too big for us and we know our kids would love to see us downsize (smile)... But when I mentioned to Terry SEVERAL times today that I was so happy to be home we both feel the same.. We are not quite ready to leave this place yet.. Unless the Lord comes back then I will gladly go Home with Him but meantime this sweet place means a lot to this old heart of mine and his, too..
With all the repairs and upkeep it needs.. smile..
Sorry, kids... grin...
Guess we will just hang around here a while longer.. smile..

Anyway...
Just a few pics I took today here and there..
When we left these flowers were just coming up and look at them now....

Gone to seed and just waiting for me to squeeze them so that their seeds will fly all over...

And then when we left I had just made Apple Blossom Jelly and now look....
Lots of apples growing and the hydrangea are all in bloom.  I posted also about making a wreath with those last year..

Although, we live in a wee village we actually have fields in back of us.. We have a farmer from up the road who comes and cuts the hay and in exchange we get a few chickens...

Today he came and finished cutting it...

Of course, if you are readers of this blog you realize that we also spend a lot of time at our old farm up in the Kent Hills..
We love it there.. Not as much as here but we feel very blessed to have this old place just to go and relax...
We went up today even though we had just moved back to make sure all was well as we had not been there for awhile...
And the grass needed mowed.. smile..

It was lovely.

The cows were still in the pastures....

And the dear brook was still flowing..

Beautiful, eh?

After a couple of hours there we came back home to do some more work..
I did manage to put my mint plants on the truck from St. Martins...
Now, they are hanging here..

I wanted to start drying it...

There are 3 different mints so I will dry a plant at a time...
There will be plenty of mint tea around here this Winter..
Peppermint is lovely for colds and headaches but you can find all that stuff on google..

I didn't think that my lavender that I had brought into the house last year survived..
I put all my plants on the back patio and just left them when we went to the cottage.. Most of the Lavender was dead but there was a small piece that I thought was Rosemary still living.. Today when I went to check on them there was a lovely big lavender plant..
So... you can grow it in your house...
I told someone last week that you couldn't but I forget who I told it to...
It was a Spanish lavender, I think..

Well, that is all for tonight.. Try to dry some mint if you are growing it or buy it at the market.. I love my tabbouleh and it will be neat to use my own mint..

Thanks for the visit and to all you new followers welcome...
Hope you girls find something to interest you.. Somewhere here in my ramblings..
Love to you all and God bless..
Looking forward to hearing from you..
Hugs..
