A Rainy Sunday and Spam..

Hello there dear hearts..
Hope you had a great weekend..

We had such a blessed day..
The presence of the Lord was so awesome in our services with such wonderful worship..
Very thankful for the blessings of God..

After church  we decided to go to the farm for Sunday Dinner.. smile..
This past week has been pretty rainy..
The brooks and rivers are overflowing their banks and the grass is so beautiful and green and the drive was so pretty..

I love to be at the farm on a rainy windy day..
It just whistles around the eves and the wood fire is so cozy..

I decided to dress the table with a tablecloth since it was Sunday..
I found it at the thrift store along with the old plates and the little enamel pot that is just right for butter..

Lately, I am quite happy to find just two plates that are vintage or pretty..
Most of the time now we only need two now..

The meal was an old fashioned kind of dinner..

Steak with peppers, mushrooms and onions..
Mashed Potatoes and Buttered Carrots..
Tossed Salad..
Nothing fancy ...

We didn't have dessert or bread today...smile..

See the little johnny jump ups..
Aunt Eva must have planted them many years ago..
They just keep spreading..
So sweet..

We had a very restful afternoon and then to church again this evening for another lovely service..
And then back home sweet home.. smile..

Keepers of the Home is once again on this coming Saturday morning..
We would love to have you if you live in the area..

Thanks for visiting my friends..

I need to tell you that I had to change my comments set up..
For some reason someone decided that they would use my anonymous comment section to send spam to the email of  my lovely readers..

I am so so sorry about this..

Thank you so much to the dear girl who let me know that this was going on..
It was not just spam but filth ...
Beyond my comprehension, really..

This old world needs God..
When someone would take the time to do such idiocy it almost makes me sick..

So..
If you used to use the anonymous way of leaving a comment then I will surely miss you all..

I hope you will take the time to sign up with a Google account and then you can comment any time..
It is really easy but if not then please email me and let me know you are still there.. ok?

Once again, I am sorry for this..

Love to you all..

  3. I am so sorry to hear that you had a person leave filthy garbage on you comments! It just makes me sick. They have nothing better to do with their time.

Faye, I want to sit right down at that farm table and eat that luscious meal that you made. That is the stuff that we eat, too. Those carrots look so good to me...I don't know why....the last time you showed a meal at the farm you had carrots so I asked Jim to grow some in the garden! Can't wait!

Now, I think I have this right.....the picture of the church is the church you and Terry just switched to...right? It is where your Dad used to go to church? It is the sweetest church building. Does your Mom and stepdad go there also?

And last.....that is your sweet home sweet home, isn't it? I knew it as soon as I saw the amish buggy. What a wonderful home. I love the front porch. And you have a nice big garage like we do which is so wonderful! The big trees in the front are beautiful and makes me glad we decided to save ours. Very nice picture.

Well, this old lady is off to beddy bye time. Tomorrow is Memorial Day here. Our family gravesites are decorated as of yesterday and tomorrow ....we hope to plant some flowers here.

    Thinking of you.

  6. Oh Faye, I'm so sorry you were bombarded with some nasty spam. I did away with anonymous comments a long while ago but I still get those foreign names with spam advertising here and there. Some bloggers have gone back to word verification which is a nuisance and turns a lot of bloggers away but, I don't mind it so much. It certainly was a wet weekend but the sun is shining a bit this morning although a cold wind is blowing. It looks a lot better for later in the week. Your Sunday dinner looks so homey and delicious. I can just smell the wood fire and the aroma of a home cooked meal. We always have brunch of scrambled eggs, toast and tea on Sunday after church. Have a good week. Hugs, Pam

  7. Hi Faye,
Your meal looks lovely and I like the way you always take care in setting the table, makes such a comfortable setting for eating a meal together. I was in the nursery at church today, the kiddies are so precious. We had a family get together this afernoon with lots of munchies and I got some fiddleheads ready for the freezer last night. I am hoping to make rhubarb jam next weekend. :)

Have a great week Faye, Hugs to you from me. :)

  8. It's too bad about the comments - I had to close mine too. I had weird stuff on there about checking out other websites. It just seemed suspicious to me. Your meals are so inspirational - really. You make everyday seem special. That was our topic in Weight Watchers. One older woman, retired, said she puts flowers out at their dinner meal - always has her whole married life. A young wife could take some notes here - even older ones. Blessings from Wisconsin.

  9. Faye, just like all of the other commenters, I love the care you take in setting your table. It always looks so inviting and so cozy. A lot of people would think that since it's just the two of you why go to any trouble, but in my opinion, your husband is the most important part of your life and deserves to be treated special. You inspire me to be more aware of the "little things" that show how much we care. Thanks Faye. Blessings to you and yours.

  12. It's the bad folks to mess things up for the decent and honest ones.
Your farm looks so very picturesque, and your rain pictures are wonderful, I don't like rain, but you make it look almost inviting.
    Your meal certainly looks inviting!
Have a wonderful week and I will try to email you soon.

  17. Your table setting is beautiful. I am so glad you had a nice day at the farm. I love the flowers. I used to have a few but I guess they died out. I had completely forgotten about them. I will have to be on the lookout for some seeds as I think they are so colorful and happy. Enjoy your day and God bless.

Anyway, I cleaned out my flowerbed today so I have some plants to bring to Keepers on Saturday :)
