This week in my kitchen...

Hello everyone..
Welcome to this week in my kitchen BLOG HOP...
It is a little different here this week as I am sharing two kitchens..

We have an old farm that we love and visit as often as we can which is a thirty minutes drive from our home..
We go there to relax and enjoy wonderful peace and quiet..

It is just an old farm kitchen that my dear aunt used to bake and cook her family meals in many years ago..

The first few pictures were taken here at home and the rest at the farm..
We are having a very late Spring here in Eastern Canada.. smile..

Join Heather's blog hop HERE..
Each day I find myself snapping a picture or two in the kitchen - a pile of ingredients, a table waiting for us to gather around, a sink full of soapy dishes, a cup of tea, dinner as it comes out of the oven - simple, everyday moments in the kitchen. These photos serve as a reminder of days gone by and as encouragement to carry on in this busy kitchen of ours when inspiration is lacking.

The first few pics are of a wonderful Asian soup that I found here..
The last day we were at the farm we forgot our food basket at home so I had to make do with what was in the pantry there..
Thank heavens for old fashioned potatoes and beans, eh?
A real Canadian dinner or so my husband told me..

Thanks so much for dropping by and if you have any questions please put them in the comments and I will try to give you the answers...

God bless..

  1. Oh those tomatoes!!! And the bok choy is just gorgeous. I love all your pictures, I don't think I would mind cooking in that kitchen, and I think we will try the asian soup. We had a very warm day today, bout time.

  2. I love seeing all your chickens, my best friend is a chicken lover too.
We didn't even get spring, we went straight from winter to summer.
I didn't know potatoes and beans was a Canadian dish, we eat it here in the south too ;)

  6. I just wanna jump through the screen on my laptop and into the kitchen. It looks so inviting! Today I made banana bread. I cut some up even though it was still warm and buttered it and gave a piece each to my painters, Israel and Bernie. Israel loves banana bread. We always laugh at the recipe when it says to let bread cool overnight before cutting! Never happens in our house! tee hee! We are having some rain but not too bad. Next week it's supposed to get sunny and warmer again! Hope you all are warming up!

  9. In your third picture you have a green frosted glass, I have the same one. My parents have a set and a gas station back in Ct gave them away in the 70's. It is my favorite.

  11. Both kitchens look so warm and welcoming and the food looks delicious. I must go check out that soup recipe.
Your aunt's farmhouse kitchen took me right back to the kitchens of my childhood. My mom had the same metal canisters with the black lids. She had the cookie jar too and I still remember the sound of the lid when I would try to sneak cookies from it. Ha!

  12. Hello Dear Heart, You have no idea how I loved following you around the farmhouse kitchen while you were cooking there! It was a real big treat to me as it so reminded me of both of my grandmother's kitchens. So timely....and it gave me such a wonderful feeling. And memories...one of my Grandma Gray making cooked dandelions ...just so someday I could tell my children that I had had dandelions with vinegar with our dinner. Faye, You make me feel so at home....whether it is on the farm , your house or the cottage. Oh, and I love seeing those pickles at every meal!! Of course, I totally love your kitchen at home, too. Have a wonderful weekend and know that I am thinking of you.
