Farm days...

Good Evening, my dears..
Another Friday night has rolled around and another week almost over..

Time sure is flying by..

One more week and I will be leaving for a trip to Pa...
Lord willing..
My dear husband is staying home and I am going with some friends..
 It should be a blast..

We are going to Sight and Sound..
A Biblical production which is out of this world..
It takes place in Lancaster, Pa..
This one is called Noah's Ark...

Our oldest grandson saw the same one a couple of weeks ago..
He said, "Grandma, it was totally awesome!'
smile..
And of course.. some shopping.. Prim love.. smile..

Anyway, the sun has come out here in Maritime Canada the last few days..
Terry was happy as we headed for the farm..
I mentioned last posting that he wants to put a new roof on the old house up there..
Here is a pic I took out of the window..
Note ... the screen.. grin..
He is blessed to have the use of a bucket truck..
Makes it much easier..

Meanwhile...
I have a lot to do as we have not been up for awhile..
Scrubbing and waxing the floor and such..

Our youngest son is to show up and help Dad so I make one of  his favorites..
Homemade Bread..

There is something about this place that inspires me to cook.. smile...

Peeling veggies and grilling steak...

Fresh fiddleheads with lemon butter.. yummm....

A very old fashioned lunch table..

This is not just Terry's favorite place on earth .. grin...
It is Sammi's, too..

At the end of the day he snores like crazy..
He is so tired from digging and running back and forth to the spring for a drink..
So many interesting smells here to check out.. smile..

I brought some sewing to do in the afternoons..

Pretty fabrics...

Trying my hand at some bunting..

They are very popular in the UK magazines that I love..

I found a tutorial on the web and tried it..
I think it is a bit big..
15 cm wide by 22 cm. on each side..
It is almost finished ..
I need to find something to use to connect the banners..
I took some seam binding but I don't like the look of it..
I will show you when I get it finished..
I think it will look neat in the shop..
Do any of you girls make bunting?
What size do you make yours and where do you hang it?

Well, time for a tea break..
A favorite  tea of  us Maritimers..

The Eastern part of Canada is made up of 4 provinces and we are called the Maritimes..
A little geography lesson for you.. smile..

King Cole tea..
So good..

Well, it is time to hang up my apron and head for home again..

We don't stay there over night very often..

We live so close that we usually come home to our bed..
Then we head back up in the morning..
Tomorrow will be our third day there..
A lot of work putting a roof on ..
It will take a bit, I guess..

Thank you, sweet friends for dropping by.

I am sorry if I have not been commenting lately..
I have been running the roads too much..

Please be patient with me.. OK?
I do read your comments, though and love everyone of them..

May God bless and keep you ...
Hugs..

A blue blue day...

Hello everyone,...
Here  it is another rainy day ...

There is something about a rainy day that can make some feel kinda blue..
Personally, I love the rain but Terry is starting to think it is a blue blue day.. smile..
He had such big plans to get the roof on the old farm house but it has rained ever since he bought the shingles, I think...
Oh well..
We need the rain and it is Spring, eh?

I looked in my files and found a few blue pics to share with you..
You probably think that I am scraping the bottom of the barrel and you might be right..
My camera was not in the house today so I didn't take any pics..

I just did a bit of housework and cooking, anyway..
Ordinary things like cleaning the fridge..
I made a salad for lunch and did several loads of laundry..
Changed our bedding and cleaned our bathroom..
Just the usual, I guess..

I did dig out some fabrics..
I am wanting to make some bunting..
Check my Pinterest on the sidebar and my bunting board..

We had pork chops for supper and we tried the Oriental Jam ..
Oh my, that is a keeper for sure..
We both loved it so that will need to get made again..

Here are a few things BLUE...

love the look of an old cup in the sugar canister...

A collection from one of my special places..
Kings Landing ...

a shelf down at the cottage...

the same shelf but at the other end..

dishes to sell...

blessings from my great aunt Emily...
flow blue...

lovely blue flowers...

Hope you all are having a lovely week..
It can be a blue day without feeling blue, I think..

Thanks for visiting..
Hopefully, next time I will have something more inspiring or creative for you all..

Looking forward to hearing from you..
God bless...

That husband of mine...

Happy Friday everyone..
Hope you are all having an awesome day..

We woke up to a simply beautiful morning..

Terry decided he needed to take some stuff out to the farm so of course if he goes then I want to go along too..
smile..

The closest route for us to get there has been closed all Winter due to the fixing of one of the bridges..

Today, my darling husband  thinks perhaps we should take a short cut that people with four wheel drives are taking..

It has been raining here all week and I kindly pointed this fact out to him..

I don't know about your husbands but mine thinks that he knows best when it comes to such things... (rolled eyes)  ..

Hey, he can probably save a few bucks worth of gas.. right?

Well...
This is what the GOOD part of the road looked like..

Did I mention that we were also hauling a loaded trailer?

Now.. one of my most unfavored things to do is ride old muddy back roads even on good days.. The day after heavy rainfall makes it an even more unfavored thing for me to want to do..sigh..

I again KINDLY point out that it would no doubt cost a lot more to get the whole thing hauled out of there then to go a few extra miles..

Oh my... He says he has it all under control...
RIGHT...
We go about a mile then he decides to get out and see what it is like ahead a bit..

Me ...
I am in the truck calling on the Lord to get us out of there..

He gets back in and with my eyes tightly closed and calling on heaven he goes a ways further..

Then ...
Wisdom came down and he gets out and unloads and unhooks the trailer and pulls it out of the way by hand..
.
Oh man.. I hope I don't have to call 911 way back here..
Does my phone even work?
Oh Lord help us...

Did I mention that the road is very narrow with mud on both sides?

Well, thank the good Lord we get turned around and the trailer rehooked and finally get out of there..

All thanks to the grace of God..

BUT..
GUESS WHAT THIS DEAR MAN SAYS TO ME AS WE TURN ONTO THE PAVED ROAD???

"I hope you never talk me into doing something like that again!!"

Yup... that is what I am married to... grin..

Oh well... Life goes on... eh!

We arrive at the farm without hardly even any mud on the truck...
Another miracle..smile..

The trees are beginning to get their leaves..
We had stopped at the store and picked up a few things for me to make lunch with..

Tomato and Bacon Buns...
Nothing fancy but good..

Beautiful skies today...

The old apple tree is slowly starting to bud..

And the lilacs are greening up..

Choke Cherries are budding, too.
.
After everything is unloaded Terry went back to the brook to look for fiddleheads..
They are a wonderful wild fern that grows here along the brooks and rivers.. They taste something like asparagus only better..

I cleaned up and took a wee walk and we head home again..

Such a quiet and peaceful place ...
Only the birds singing and the wind blowing...

Thank you dear ladies for your sweet visit..
I hope you find this a bit entertaining.. smile..
All is well that ends well, eh?

Take care, dear hearts..
Looking forward to reading all your little notes that you leave me..

May the Lord bless and keep you...

I love a rainy day...

Hello my dears...

We woke up to a very rainy and windy day here this morning...
I think I would call it a Faye Henry kind of day.. smile..

You sweet ladies who read this blog know how I love the wind and rain...
I love going for a drive in it, too...
I convinced Terry to go to the city and do a bit of shopping..

This is a view that I always think is awesome and thought you might like to see it...

It is taken from the old Trans Canada Highway...

The river is the Petitcodiac...

Famous for it's Tidal Bore ...

Anyway, we went to Costco and a couple of thrift stores...
Then we stopped and picked up a parcel for our oldest son and visited our youngest one for a few minutes..
Mama made him some banana chocolate chip muffins.. smile..

Not a very good picture, I am afraid...

Anyway, it poured rain the whole time we were away...
We really need rain here in New Brunswick ... Our forest fire index is way up from last year...

On the way home I took this pic of a brook near Terry's childhood home..

I always love this little brook for some reason..
It is much fuller than usual...

We have carpets of these flowers..

My Mom always called these Adder's Tongues..
But some call them Dogtooth Violets..
I love wild flowers... Don't you?

Anyway, we got home in time to make supper..

Terry brought up one of the last few bottles of our homemade
Dill pickles...

Well, sweet friends, that is all for tonight..

Just another day.. A blessing from our dear Lord..

I feel thankful tonight..

Thankful for such a lovely day..
Driving in the rain together in our yellow Volkswagen and sipping away on a nice hot cup of coffee..
Rain on the windshield and chatting away...
Getting home and  Sammi meeting us at the door..

Do you know... it is rather nice being retired... smile..

Have an awesome evening everyone...
God bless...

And the week goes on...

Hello everyone..
Hope you are all doing well..
We have had a busy week thus far..
Yesterday, we went down to St. Martins to hook up the water in the cottage..
Can you see the lovely Bay of Fundy in the picture above..

See the Bay way over there in the blue and the distant shores are of Nova Scotia..

You followers know that we live in a wee village here in New Brunswick, Canada and in the Summer we live in our old 150 year old summer house...
Old, peeling paint and in need of a new roof this year..
smile... Oh well...

Here is the view of the Bay from our driveway..

Pretty with the tide slowly coming in this day..

A nice breeze was blowing in though and a hint of rain was in the air..

There wasn't much I could do while Terry worked at the water so I drifted on over to my little pink cottage shop...

I took this pic on my way to the secret path that Janelle made for me..
See the back of the shop by the tree?

Anyway...

I could smell these before I saw them...

Lovely magnolia blooms... sigh... so fragrant...

I wonder what is going on in the HOUSE OF HENRY...
The little cross stitch my friend Christine from Northern Ireland sent me...

Little Henry is sitting and sniffing the magnolias... ahhhh..

Don't you love old chocolate boxes?...
I do...

These guys are enjoying the sunshine...

A bit of odds and ends..
Love the blue...

We always check out the Bay before we head for home..

Kinda calm today...

Gotta get going...

The magnolias will no doubt be gone by the time we get back again...

We were to our District Conference and were so blessed to hear anointed preaching of the Word that so inspired and challenged...
Thank you, Lord..

Hope you dear ladies are having a wonderful week..

Thank you so much for your sweet visit and I look so forward to hearing from you..

Hugs from me to you...
