Homemade old book pages shelf liner project..

Hello everyone..
How are you tonight?

Just thought I would share a little project with you that I finally finished today..

I persuaded Terry to take a couple of cupboard doors off..
I have a little white ironstone collection and I thought I would like the doors off..
But it needed something..
So, I made a little bit of homemade shelf liner..

I like it and it was so easy and quick to do..
I have a couple of sets of this old encyclopedias..

I like using the pages for projects..
In fact, I have a Pinterest board on it HERE..

But for today I used my punch that I bought from Michaels with a coupon...

Measured the width of the opening and then punched the edges..

Set one in place and folded over where I wanted it..

Then used a ruler to rub the edge really tight so it would lay down..

I taped them together with clear tape ...

I thought about using my brown distressed ink for the edges but these are naturally aged enough, I think..

I thought you might like to see a couple of pages from
the book..

My Dad used to sing this to my sister and I when we were little..
I even sang it to my babies... smile..

And then this dear little poem...
I have such a love for old books..
Do you?

Well, that is all for tonight..
Hope all is well in your part of the world..

Thanks for your sweet visit and you kind comments..
Welcome, too to the new friends who have joined the site..
Have a blessed week...

  23. Oh, how I love old books! Books in general are a love for me, I guess, but old ones hold something special, don't they? I have many of the books that my husband had as a child, including the old readers that he first learned to read from. Today, our grandchildren enjoy hearing me read the stories from them. How special is that? So many things to to with old books! I love the shelf liner idea. It's one I had not seen before. Thank you for sharing it.
