Hello to all of you ...
Hope you had a good weekend..
We woke up each morning to skies like this..
As you can see we still do not have any maple leaves..
Which of course is normal for us here in Maritime Canada..
We received our much needed rain and our lawns have greened up amazingly in just a couple of days.. smile..
The photo of the barn up above is one that we pass on our way to the farm..
That is a genuine bonavide Canadian barn, eh! smile..
Just a few pics of snips of our weekend..
One of Terry's favorite meals..
Stir fry and rice..
A quick stop at a thrift store...
I found these lovelies...
3 x pewter candle holders..
a prim picture
a carved wood hen which I need to repaint.. (someone tried to paint it silver..???)
several metres of check fabric..
a couple more of a tartan.. (I think) which will become an apron....
Really pleased with all this stuff for the shop...
Although, the pewter candlesticks are now on our mantel.. smile...
A batch of bread...
A recipe from Pinterest ...
Amish Bread, I think...
We were not as fond of it as others, I make..
Dear Son said it dried out in only a day...
That is the thing with recipes..
You have to try them out.. eh?
Yesterday, we went to church in the morning and then headed to St. Martins ..
We made a quick trip past the old cottage..
Tomorrow we will stop in for a bit as we need to go down again..
It was lovely seeing all of my family...
Well, it is ten o'clock here and I need to get to bed..
A very busy day tomorrow..
Thank you for taking time to visit..
As you know...
I love reading the notes you leave me...
Remember..
Serving God is beautiful....
God bless...
Once again, you found some great finds at the thrift store.
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing a bit of your weekend with us.
I just love to see pictures, and read what interesting, and fun things folks do with their weekend.
It always inspires me :)
Sweet dreams....
A ha! That's where you disappeared to so quickly yesterday after church... I bet you are loving the sound of the wind and rain right now... I don't like it, it keeps me awake...I am getting an itch to get to a thrift store...it's been awhile, maybe tomorrow I think I'll be hunting for rubber boots for the kids.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful pictures. I agree, you have to try recipes to find one that you like. We had stir fry tonight for supper.
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful evening.

I love it when out sons tell us the truth! Mine will say -"No, Mom, yours is better!" But it is fun to try out new recipes but I find I always go back to mine, my mom's or grandmother's. Hubby just came in and I was showing him your pic of the cottage and how it is near the ocean and where your little shop is. He was impressed and saying how nice for you to spend the summers by the sea. Glad you found some neat treasures at the thrift shop. Interesting!

Hi there,
ReplyDeleteWow! Great stuff that you found at the thrift store. And I love tartans. My ancestors are from Scotland. Wish I could have more luck with my search to find more of them. I am addicted to genealogy. I'd love to find their tartan.
That bread looks so yummy. Great pictures, as always. Thanks for sharing.
Since you may read this in the morning, have a wonderful day.
Take care, Janet W
Your thrift finds are wonderful as always, and your Amish bread looks amazing! I bet it makes great French toast or a fabulous bread pudding! Have a great week, Faye. xo
ReplyDeleteLove Barns! Especially that Canadian one Faye!
ReplyDeleteWonderful treasures too. What a shame that bread was dry it sure looked pretty.
Hugs

Hi,
ReplyDeleteYou got some wonderful items at the thrift store! Your dinner and bread look yummy... I'll be right over for leftovers.
xoxo
I love the Pewter candlesticks...I think we have a pair like the left one...or at least so very close. I see why they are on your mantle now...lol
ReplyDeleteStir fry - one of our favorites too...yours looks so yummy.
Glad you gave us a heads up on the bread...it does look delicious though. I guess one would have to eat it in one setting so it doesn't dry out...lol (think I could do that with a warm loaf of homemade bread! )
Karen
That bread did look good. We have bought Amish bread here in Iowa; we really like their dill bread! As for the white not really. I tried one recipe that is new since I have not been working. That is sad. I have copied many recipes too. We have a lot of barns here in Iowa, a few that have paintings on them, they look great.
ReplyDeleteWonderful post and photos ! That bread does look good as does the stir fry ! We had a mix of rain snow this morning and it is now on and off and the winds are cold . I do hope the weather warms up soon ! Have a wonderful day !
ReplyDeleteLove the photo of the barn. You found great goodies at the thrift store! Ours here NEVER has any prim stuff. The bread looks delicious! Have a wonderful day!
ReplyDeleteHi Faye, The stir fry looks so yummy. That is one of our favourite meals also. :) I will have to stop at the thrift store you go to sometime, I very seldom find the good items. If I had a creative mind like yours, maybe I would find more. I probably do not go often enough.
ReplyDeleteWhen does your shop in St. Martin's open?
Krista
You and Terry have been quite busy! Love all your thrift store finds. Lovely candlesticks! Hope you're having a blessed week! Hugs dear friend!
ReplyDeleteLovely bits of your weekend. I love sweet thrift store finds.
ReplyDeleteHave a blessed week, Faye!

Faye, what lovely treasures you found at your thrift store. Pewter candlesticks! Hooray!
ReplyDeleteYou're right, Serving God is Beautiful!!! You found some lovely things at the thrift store and the barn is indeed Canadian.
ReplyDeleteThe bread looks beautiful, but yes, the only way to know if it will stay soft is to make it. I made some rolls from Pinterest that dried out very quickly. Then, I made some butter biscuits that were fabulous! Not what I expected at all, but my husband LOVED them. And btw, I made stir-fry for dinner this evening because it is my hubbies favorite meal, too! I always feel like I have had a little visit and a chat with you when I leave here, very satisfying.
Love and hugs, Cindy
What a sweet post Faye. The bread looks so yummy, you are making me hungry. Yumm-0. I also love all of your goodies, the material is really nice looking. So glad that you had a great weekend with family and friends. Thanks for sharing your faithfulness with us, you truly are inspiring. Blessings ~Sara
