Friends and a prayer request..

Good Evening one and all..
How are you doing?

Just a short post tonight with some pics of old barns that I took yesterday when we went for a little drive..

We had some lovely company last night for supper and then today a friend dropped by to spend the afternoon with me..

She brought me some lovely books as presents and some to borrow.. smile..

We had a little snack with our couple of pots of tea.. smile..

Friends are lovely aren't they?
So nice to just be yourself and relax and chat..

They say another storm is coming to Eastern Canada..
It is sure a common thing around here lately..
I don't think it is to be too bad or I pray not anyway..

The birds think so as they were so busy today..

Not a very interesting post, my dears..

I do have a special prayer request for you all ..

A dear lad was killed on our highway a night ago..
He was only 24 years old and a husband and dad to 2 wee boys..
I loved this guy...
He had such a sweet spirit..

He would be at the Access Centre (computer learning centres) a lot when I used to go there and would always be so patient and kind when I would mess up..
He taught me a lot about the computer..

Then if I needed help after we bought ours he would help and came and hooked up our wireless and my printer..

In fact, yesterday when I was having the blogger problem I thought to myself that I would have to get him to come and help me..

But he had already left this earth and I didn't know until later..

Please pray for his sweet family..
I love his mama...(she is Terry's cousin)
My heart is heavy as I think of years ahead and her and her husband missing their child..
Along with his wife and wee boys and
his 2 brothers and sister..
So sad..

Oh for the comfort and peace of God to rest upon them all..

Life is short, my friends..
We only have one chance at this life..

We really need to prepare for the next one..
It is forever..

May our Lord be with you all and bless and keep you..

  6. So sorry for his death but if he was born again he's home withJesus. The most important thing in life is to be ready because life is short and we're not guaranteed tomorrow. May you be comforted and God's grace be poured into your life. Laura

  8. Hi Faye, I'm so sorry to hear this young man was a relative of Terry's. I saw the write up in the Gleaner on line. What a sad and tragic end to a young man and his family. Your photos are beautiful. I love old barns and cows and often think of Uncle Ernest and Tom's farm down the Ridge. Blessings to you and your family in your loss. Pam

  9. Your post brought such a mix of emotions... I love the barns and the steers. I so love the country. Your tea with your friend looked so lovely and fun. That is a beautiful yellow bird at your feeder! I have never seen that bird before. How it brightens the sometimes dreariness of winter!

I will be praying for this family! I will pray for comfort for your heart as well as little reminders pop up...

Love and warm hugs to you, my dear faraway friend!

  12. I'm sorry to hear that Terry lost her husband. I'm always grieved when I hear of tragic accidents such as this one. I will keep the mother and her two sons in my thoughts.

On a brighter note, I enjoyed the photographs you took of the barns in the snow. Though it doesn't snow where I live, I could imagine myself taking a brisk walk by those barns, enjoying the quiet and solitude around them.

I'm glad that you had a wonderful time of fellowship with a good friend. When one can find a good friend, they have truly found a sweet blessing. :)

  20. nice you had a visit with friends and tea with a friend. I was to do that with a couple friends yesterday here at my house. But I decided not to share my cold cooties with them. Prayers that I get better since I have to be at work tomorrow. ARG! A dear wife and momma of two children, one just born, died, from post traumatic distress order. She had been at the mall here in OR where shooting was, and helped some people get out. She started having problems a week later, died yesterday. So sad...baby was born at 8 mo. and ok. Pray for that family. My daughter goes to church with them. The old barn photos are great! Hugs and have a good week.

  21. Such a sad thing, the passing of this young man. My prayers will be with his small family and parents.
How nice that you had some company, special friends are few and far between.
I also like your barn photos, there is something very endearing about old barns, they remind us of simpler times... well, me anyway.
    Have a good night!
    Hugs, Cindy

  22. I tried to comment earlier this morning but my comment was not accepted...

Wow. This post was full of emotion for me...
I loved that your friend came by to visit bearing gifts of her time and books with you. This is what adds to the specialness of life..

..and then to have thought of your family member friend, not knowing he was gone from this earth at that point... reminded me of my own moments with my dad passing away - too young.

Basically your post is keeping the perspective that life is too short and is meant to be valued. I will certainly be praying for you and your extended family; especially this young man's dear wife and precious babes.

    This is hard.
