A Keepers of the Home meeting...

Good Evening everyone..
Just giving you a little post tonight about our day..
I was up and about early this morning...
It looks to be a very dreary day out there..

A big snowstorm is forecast for later on today but for now we are getting ready to go to our KEEPERS OF THE HOME meeting..
yeah!!

Sammi is wondering where on earth is that woman going to this early in the morning.. grin..

I need to get some coffee made for Terry and I to drink in the car on the way and then he will  load all of the stuff that I am taking..

The roads were slippery up here on our end but as we drove closer to Sussex the roads were a little better...
Thank goodness, my dear man decided to drive me..

We arrived a bit early so we could set up tables and chairs and get the coffee going .. again... grin..

We had some lovely company today..
It is nice when they come the first time and even better when they
keep coming...
It was nice to have Maureen today... I hope I spelled your name right.... smile..
And Susan and Lori back again.. Dear hearts...

Everyone got busy making breakfast...
Toast, eggs, bacon, fruit salad and more..

Orange and raisin muffins...
with little heart picks..

Our sweet sister Nancy came and brought us a treat..
Her homemade dark and white chocolate bark..
Delicious!!

And there is dear sweet Emily... our youngest Keeper.. grin..
Another new baby was on it's way today and we can't wait to meet him or her??? smile..
Dear Char...

I brought a bottle of sprouts to show the girls..
I thought it was funny that only the younger ones were interested and wanted their own kit to start at home.. grin..
I know they will be as hooked as me by the next time we get together.. smile..

Also... a wee tip ...
Those peanut butter or mayo jars are perfect for sprouting but also for freezing left over soups.. They don't break...

And then it was on to the lesson...
Colossians 3: 12-17

Colossians 3:12-17

New International Version (NIV)
12 Therefore, as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience. 13 Bear with each other and forgive one another if any of you has a grievance against someone. Forgive as the Lord forgave you. 14 And over all these virtues put on love, which binds them all together in perfect unity

A reminder of how the Lord holy and dearly loves us..
How he loves our family units and we are His valentines..

That the minute we put our feet on the floor we need to remember that this home and it's occupants are loved by God..

He loves families and they are His will..

To use the attributes of compassion, kindness, humility , gentleness and patience towards each member of our family....

We discussed how we could use each one of these virtues individually to improve our family life..
And to strive to work toward unity in our homes by binding them up with the everlasting string of love...

We are so thankful in this day when everything is working against family units that we can put our trust and hope in God..

We strive to put Him in the centre and head of our homes..

With that finished  we began working on our craft for the day..
They made the  craft that  I shared with you in the last posting
 TEA LIGHT LAMP..

Some used recipes, music paper or old mags and pictures..
Quite a variety..

Did you know that you can make your own modge podge by mixing half of a bottle of white glue with half of a bottle of water and shake it all up..
I saw that on Pinterest, too...

All in all we had a lovely day..
Our numbers were down but we still had a great time of fellowship..

On the way home it was snowing really hard..

As you can see... smile..
We have about 30 cm. down now, I think...

How is everything in your world?
Some of you are having Spring and we are just getting our Winter..
That's OK, though...

Thank you, sweet ladies for dropping by..
Tomorrow is the LORD'S DAY...
I don't know if there will be church or not..
The winds are howling out there and the snow is blowing about..
I hope to hear from you all... Love reading your sweet comments.
I picked up a few things today to finish some projects that I have been wanting to finish...
Hope to share them with you all soon..

God bless you all...
Hugs.

We are having a winter storm, several inches accumulation, lots os blowing windy gusts. It will be in the single digits tonight and tomorrow night. We have been tucked in all day. Just enjoying a quiet day together. My boy is 19 today, and doing well. Hope you have a good night, a lovely Sunday, and I really want to get some sprouts. It's been a long time since I had any!

  4. Wow, this sounds like a great gathering. If I lived in your area, I would definitely make it a point to attend. I love the biblical encouragement as well as the encouragement for the home/families ;) :) I love the ladies at my women's Bible study. One of the older lady's was sharing some cleaning tips with me. i'll ask her about those again this Tuesday and maybe blog about them. They were good tips :) Have a great weekend. Love and hugs from the ocean shores of California, Heather :)

P.s. we'll be going to church tomorrow :)

  6. Hi Faye,

What a lovely day you had. Inside and out. Please send us some of your snow,k? We haven't had as much as we should have by now and we are going to have a hard time in the summer if the reservoirs don't get filled up.

Is your Keepers of the Home group part of your church? Or a community group?

I love those verses in Colossians . Here they are from the KJV:

    12 Put on therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, bowels of mercies, kindness, humbleness of mind, meekness, longsuffering;
13 Forbearing one another, and forgiving one another, if any man have a quarrel against any: even as Christ forgave you, so also do ye.
14 And above all these things put on charity, which is the bond of perfectness.
15 And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to the which also ye are called in one body; and be ye thankful.
16 Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord.
17 And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by him. Colossians 3:12-17

Wouldn't it be great if everyone would be the kind a person that it describes here?

I hope you can get to church tomorrow. Take care, Janet W

  10. Faye, it looks like you had a lovely ladies day out even in the snow. We got about 10 cm here and the sun is shining brightly on the whiteness today - almost blinding. It's too cold to be out long though but I did get to church this morning and will tonight too. Blessings to you! Pamela

sharing & learning from God's word, fellowshipping, food, crafts!
Ah, you'll have to come our way so we can learn how to have these similar type meetings, or can you share a post of the how-to-what-it's all about (you know what I mean)? Or, link me back to one on your blog? :)
Looks like some of your snow is heading our way this afternoon? Cant complain as we have had it very mild! :)

  19. Dear Faye,
I am so sorry for missing the Keepers meeting, I felt so bad, I think this was the first time that I have not gone. My back was killing me and nothing was making it better, i couldnt sit, lay down, or stand to ease it. But baby has not arrived yet. All I can say is that if not soon, I won't be able to walk it hurst so bad to do so, or just to sit down and try to get back up. I can't remember ever being in this much pain with the other two. But I guess the third time is a charm! LOL! I am so glad you posted what you did and the lovely devotion at the Keepers meeting. Now it make me feel like I was kind of there. LOL!

    Love Ya,

    Char
