Good Morning, my dears..
Just a very short posting to let you know that I am headed for Amish Country.. grin..
I am such a weird person..
I do want to go but I am such a homebody and do not need to tour much.. If it was not for the fact that I love this part of the U.S. then I would be happier going to PEI or over the Cabot Trail in Nova Scotia.. And then there is so much just here in our own province and Newfoundland is a place I long to visit..
This opportunity for me to go with 3 dear friends is one that I could not turn down though..
We plan on going to Sight and Sound which is showing the Jonah and the Whale production.. Our oldest grandson saw it a few weeks ago and he said it was awesome..
This will be my third production. Such a blessing..
There are such wonderful primitive shoppes there..
A couple have been calling my name clear here to New Brunswick... grin..
Also, friends from Ontario will be there in charge of a tour bus and we will be travelling about Lancaster with them for a day or two..
OK, I do want to go.. grin...
I need to get going..
We have to go to the city to get a few more things and then there is packing, cleaning the house a bit more and straining violet oil to use when I get back home...
Here is a recipe I promised you..
Rhubarb Juice out of a quite old recipe book that I found at the farm..
You just cook it down and strain it..
Here I mixed it with some pineapple juice and Sprite..
It is delicious..
I doubled the recipe and am going to freeze it for summer entertaining...
I hope to do more when I get back home..
Well, girls...
Remember to pray for me and I will be remembering you in my prayers, too..
I will talk to you when I get back, Lord willing..
We are planning on 8 days.. smile..
My sweet hubby will be looking after himself.. smile..
Thank you for your sweet visit and thanks for leaving me notes so I know you were here.. smile..
I am sure you can tell I am rushing.. Sorry about that..
I will do better when I get home again..
God is faithful...
I love Him so much..
Sending you hugs and blessings...
Have a grand time, safe time. We look forward to what you've gotten into on your trip..:) I enjoy Amish Country too. ;)
ReplyDeleteHi dear Faye,
ReplyDeleteYou will have a lovely time, I am sure!
I wish you many blessings on your little break, and will pray for you (and Terry back at home!dear man)
Just think of all the inspiration awaiting you: we need this every so often to feed our 'ideas banks' ~ I must admit I am more than a little green with...' in the nicest way,I would love to see the Amish country for real, as I am sure many of us would.
All he best,
xxx H/A
Could I be any more envious of you!
ReplyDeleteWell as long as I'm not able to go at this time I'm glad you can...goodness it sounds like so much fun Faye.
Enjoy your travels and be safe.
Hugs and Prayers
Karen
I know you will have a great time.
ReplyDeleteFaye,
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your trip. I always find that the preparation for the trip causes me more stress than the actual trip. Though I am a homebody too. I like knowing that I have all of my earthly needs available, I worry that I will forget something. This is why I like going to The Stone House, I have toothpaste, shampoo...anything that I would need there and I don't have to worry that I forgot anything! Sorry, got off on a rampage there...I am a homebody too!
Kendra

You make me jealous! I just moved out of Amish country and hearing that you are going there makes me a bit homesick. We hope to move back sometime...Enjoy all the little shops and such! Safe travels!
ReplyDeleteLancaster county is beautiful. I have a penpal that lives there and we visited her years ago when we were in PA to visit my in-laws. I would love to go back and spend time there with her again. But that's not happening soon. Air travel isn't cheap any more. But hope your trip is fun and safe and indeed the shopping will be interesting! God bless and look forward to your return to blogging!
ReplyDeleteI live in the states and have been reading your blog for a little while now. I enjoy hearing about what life is like in Canada. It looks so beautiful. Anywho, I live about an hour outside of Lancaster. Cool huh?! I too have been to Sight and Sound. It's truly a treat. Lancaster is one of my favorite places on earth. (I don't get out much.) I hope you enjoy your time here. And please, show us some of the treats you pick up while visiting. :)
