Hello everyone...
Hope you are having a lovely weekend..
It is a long one here in Canada..
We call it Victoria Day weekend and Monday is a holiday..
We ended up staying home today instead of going to the farm..
I was kind of glad as there was a lot to do to catch up here at home..
Terry wanted to do all the lawns as they have grown so fast and such..
It is a beautiful sunny day again ..
I hung some clothes out and froze 20 bags of fiddle heads..
Some of you were wondering about fiddle heads..They are ferns that grow along the rivers and streams here in Eastern Canada..
They taste sort of like spinach and asparagus.. Only better..
We eat them as a vegetable with lemon butter or
in a wonderful fiddle head cream soup..
They are organic and if you pick them yourself they are free..
smile..
Our grandsons picked us a huge bag of them..
Now they are all ready for next Winter..
Last night when we were coming into the house I noticed that some of my favorite flowers were blooming..
So this afternoon I went out to pick some and to wonder around the yard.. Such a beautiful day..
A little window box on my kitchen window..
A few chives..
Terry wanted to give the deck another coat of stain..
The old apple trees are all in bloom..
They bloomed so quickly this year..
And as for the flowers that I went out to pick..
Lilly of the Valley...
White Violets...
White Forget Me Not..
Aren't they simply beautiful?
I so love flowers.. And these three are my all time favorites..
Here my dears...
I put them in a little pitcher for you...
They smell gorgeous, too..
Tomorrow is the Lord's Day...
Today while I was working I listened to a wonderful preaching tape...
The preacher spoke about everything that can be shaken will be shaken in the last days..
And how we need to know what we believe and why..
How we need to stand firm on the word of God...
Sometimes we question ...
What is going on?
Things that we thought were important are in jeopardy of being tossed aside...
This age has different values and morals..
Even in churches the things that used to be right can now be
disregarded as old fashioned and not necessary..
I find myself wondering what is this world coming to?
And then I realize..
It is coming to an end...
I am so glad that I have found somewhere to stand..
on the Rock which is Christ Jesus..
He never changes...
He never gives up on me...
He is faithful....
The things that were important when I was only ten years old are still just as important to Him today..
He is still genuine...
When my soul is perplexed and I don't know what is going on then I need only to trust...
in Him...
He will see me through..
His presence today in my kitchen was as real as it was the night He saved my soul and filled me with his Spirit...
Yesterday while following behind Terry in the truck I was singing this old chorus..
Where would I be without Jesus...
Tell me where would I spend eternity?
Oh, I am so thankful for the Grace of God.. smile..
He is so available to whosoever will..
And He is as close as the whisper of His Name..
Take care dear hearts...
Thanks for dropping by and leaving your sweet notes..
Have a blessed weekend..
Love to you all...
The best thing about visiting you Faye IS THAT :-)
ReplyDeleteNo matter what the weather, there is always a welcome :-) X X X
There is something extra-special about white flowers, so pure and serene. I really need to plant!!!! Have a blessed Lord's Day, Faye, and Happy Victoria Day to you, too. xo
ReplyDeleteHello my dear......thank you for the darling bouquet of flowers! I love lily of the valley. I carried it in my wedding bouquet in 1965. All three flowers in the pretty pitcher are my favorites actually. I love the thought...thank you, Faye.
ReplyDeleteThank you, also, for your tender thoughts on the Grace of God.
Nice post, nice picturs and true message. Blessings from Wisconsin.
ReplyDeleteHi Faye,
ReplyDeleteSo nice to visit you today. The flowers are all so lovely. I like your window box too.
I too feel like His coming is near. It is so scary to see the things that are happening in the world. The very things that the bible says would be happening in the last days. Our president just made a surprising announcement a couple weeks ago. I couldn't believe it. :(
I know though, that the Lord is in charge and that HE will win in the end. May we always be on the Lord's side and do as He has asked us to do. So that we may not be taken by surprise when He comes. Or that we may be ready. :)
Thank you for sharing your pictures and your thoughts. :)
Have a great weekend. Take care, Janet W
Hi Faye,
ReplyDeleteSuch a lovely post. I never heard of fiddle heads and had seen them in another one of your posts. Glad to learn about different things from my blog friends.
Have a wonderful weekend.
xoxo
Loving your photos & esp. the inspiration.
ReplyDeleteGod Bless You, Faye!
Busy day here and now am relaxing a bit with a cup of hot tea and a cookie, just made this afternoon....and it's all gone now! :L This evening I went over to a dear Christian sister's house to take photos of her golden chain tree and wisteria. Beautiful lawn and then she showed her patio to me. OH my....just looked so beautiful. Right out of a magazine! So glad she called me to come and take photos. I was weary from out for 4 hours and then home to bake cookies and make mac/cheese from scratch...well, not the macaroni part. When we were done eating I really didn't want to move. But Doria and I have fun together. Will be sharing photos of that soon. I so enjoy your posts. I agree with what you said about things changing in some churches. I am so thankful for our pastor Jesse leading us on the right path, believing and teaching from the Bible, not man's ideas. There's so much I could say but won't. God has really worked on me in the past few years and I can see the change for the better within my heart. Break my heart for what breaks yours, Lord. Hugs across the miles, Faye.
ReplyDeleteThank you for the lovely flowers and the inspired words, a moment of peace in a world spinning too, too fast. May God bless you & keep you!
ReplyDeleteYou've written another beautiful post Faye.
ReplyDeleteThank you.
How grateful I am for the blessings, and the love of our Heavenly Father!!!
Enjoy your Sunday :)
I found this by 'accident' as I was looking at another blog, and now I think I will be coming back! Thank you for the encouragement, and the pretty pictures, too. Do you have a picture of a fiddlehead? I don't know what they look like.
ReplyDeleteWe were just talking about this - that the world is indeed passing away, but the Word of the Lord will stand forever. And this morning our pastor spoke of the decline in the morals, especially within the Christian community, and how we need to be grounded in the Word so we're not led astray by satan's wiles. Thanks so much for this reminder!!!
Have never seen white forget-me-nots, my garden is full of blue/pink ones, what a lovely cheery vase of flowers. Thank you for such a wonderful post.

Your chives are ahead of mine! I bought some herbs on the weekend and planted in pots which I have on my deck (I think that will count towards my Keepers HW)... I have an herb question for you- Is Italian Parsley the same as flat leaf parsley?
