Hello dear ladies..
Hope you had a lovely day..
Today I worked literally all day cleaning my pantry..
When you haven't been using it for several months it really needs a good turning out...
So relieved to have that job behind me..
I love to go in there and bake something up..
Now it is clear sailing.. smile..
Actually.. I did make this ...
Zucchini Pie
You bake it in a pie pan and it is really moist and delicious..
Most of us have lots of zucchini or we can get some..
This is one way of using them up..
Here is the recipe for you..
2/3 cup of brown sugar
1/4 cup of butter
1 tsp. of vanilla
1 egg
1 cup flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. cloves
1 cup of grated zucchini
1/2 cup of nuts or raisins,,,
Just cream the sugar, butter and vanilla.. Then add egg and mix well..
Sift in the flour, soda and spices and mix for a minute or so..
Add the zucchini and stir well..
Pour into a greased 9 inch pie pan..
Bake in a 350 degrees F. oven for 25 minutes.
Turn out onto a rack and cool..
Meanwhile stir up an icing for the top..
1 1/2 cups of icing sugar
3 T. butter
1/4 tsp. cloves
3-5 tsp. coffee cream or can milk.. (whole milk will do)
Whisk together and spread on..
Terry thought this would be good for breakfast.. smile..
It only takes a few minutes to make and is a nice treat which does not last long but if it does it will get more moist...
Thanksgiving is over again for us Canadians so what do we do the next day or so?
Right..
Make turkey soup... smile..
I always add barley to my turkey soup...
Do you?
Did you know that when you have a blog you make the best and dearest friends..
They may live way far away but you feel as though they live next door to you..
And sometimes they send you presents and letters.. smile..
Well..
I received this lovely gift from my friend Trace...
I was so excited when Terry brought home this lovely parcel from the post office..
And inside was this dear gift...
A wonderful strawberry mat made by Trace herself..
Wrapped in kraft coloured tissue and tied with jute with the button packages as the bow..
Isn't it lovely?
A dear little woolie berry along with some strawberry recipe cards..
Trace and I love recipes.. In fact we like a lot of the same things..
She also loves the Lord and old dishes.. grin..
Her blog can be found HERE..
THANK YOU DEAR FRIEND..
You are so thoughtful..
Well, dear hearts...
This all for today..
Hope you are all doing well in your part of the world..
Thank you for dropping by and visiting..
So glad you did and I look forward to hearing from you all..
So thankful tonight that we have a prayer answering God who specializes is miracles..
There is power in prayer, eh?
Mark 11:24
God bless ...

Never tried Zucchini cake before looks YUMMY ! Our left over turkey was left over from my in laws lol all gone now. But as it is chilly out I made some chicken stew in the slow cooker , I love having the smell of stews and chillies wafting through out the house for the day as it is cooking especially in the cooler weather and having the wood stove going as well the two smells just blend perfectly and is soo comforting ! Oh that gift is lovely . Have a good evening my friend.

ReplyDeleteGreetings! Your zuchinni pie looks so moist and deliscious.
I should've made soup with our turkey. Instead we ate on it

Sweet gift from your friend Trace.
