Good Evening everyone..
I know it has been ages since I have been on here..
Time has just flown and got away from me.
I do hope all has been well with you..
Winter is over and Spring has sprung!
We are having a very cool and quite rainy spring season...
I see as every year all the pics of blossoms and green down to the south while we are still having snow squalls and such..
But this too shall pass and we will be having hot days!
Our evenings have lengthened so much!
I enjoy that but I also like the snug winter ones..
Each winter seems to pass faster than the last ones, I find..
Terry and I have had a good season and so looking forward to warm days and all the things we love doing .....
Visiting the Bay of Fundy is always at the top of my list, picnics, farm days and little day trips are some things we look forward to...
Anyway...
Here are a few things I have been doing the past couple of months...
Isn't that awful? So long getting back here..
I think it is the longest I have ever gone without posting..
Sorry....
This is a bunting I made ...
My sweet cousin Susie sent me a package of old family pics she found in her Mom's things...
I so appreciated them.
These were some sweet ones of children that may have been related to her and I.. We just do not know who they are...
I thought this might be a way to display them...
so many sweet kids..
and the pics are precious!
Momma and her babies....
I hung them over the fireplace in the livingroom for now..

I think I will change out Great Aunt Emily's Rose Bowl above though..
I have another pic that Mom gave me that I think might look better but I need Terry to help me hang it..
Then Terry and I had our 55th anniversary in March!
Imagine!
We celebrated over a couple of weeks and had fun!
Homemade Rolls with his Mom's recipe and my Aunt Mary's white cake.. (which I baked a bit too long) but still was tasty..

Used my beautiful Flow Blue dishes that I have collected over the years..
I think my favourite pattern ....
I just love old dishes... Can you tell? ❤
One thing we did to celebrate was to go to our capitol city here in New Brunswick and went to a plant nursery..
Terry gifted me with several lovely new plants...
Love them..
Parsley, Basil, Oregano, Cilontro, Mint and Thyme...
He gave me beautiful roses for Valentine's so I asked for herbs and plants instead this time..
Such a dear man....
Thankful to God for our many years together.
Making Him the centre of our home was the best thing we ever did!
And for our precious family...
God is so good!
Spent a day with dear daughter..
Such a fun day!
Then of course did some kitchen stuff..
Bought a 25 pound box of tomatoes at Hardy's in town...
Shonda had told me about this way of preparing tomatoes last fall and I had done my sauce this way..
It really works..
And canned one canner full..
Also made some fresh tomato sauce, soup and salsa....
That will do till fall...
I had several litres left but just topping them up..
On that note... a few things I have been cooking and baking...
Using frozen berries for jams..
And half a gallon of hot pickles...
aunt mary's white bread
Loved this...
Our house is very lived in although there only the two of us here...
We are both messy and both always involved in creating and doing stuff..
But it is HOME!
Many years ago I read a sentence in a book ...
It said..
She suspected that the old couple shared a life that they had made their own...
Yes...
That is what we have done..
Once your children are grown and gone you need to create a life again for just you two...
With the Lord's help...
It may not suit anyone else but it is what we have chosen..
Right?
Love it though when our kids come home and we are all together again but then they leave.. ❤
Just a few decor pics..
Getting ready for Easter....
Found these precious rabbit egg cups at two different antique shops...
I love rabbits...
Saved this for you in March but didn't get to post...
so better later then never.. smile..
Oh and the bunting I made from napkins I was gifted for Christmas..
Well, dear hearts this is all for today...
I hope it finds you all well and ignoring the chaos that can be so frustrating during these trying days..
God is the same and so I turn to Him more everyday..
And remind myself that This World is not my Home..
Trusting Christ who is my refudge and strength..
My prayer is..
Thy will be done on earth as it is in Heaven...
So many more important things going on in this old world to take our attention and give us joy..
God bless you all..
I thank you for stopping by and your dear notes...
Let me know how you are doing...
What are you busy at and what are you finding joy in these days?
Hugs from New Brunswick, Canada..
Good Night dear ones... xoxox
Thank you .

ReplyDeleteThank you for your post this morning, Faye. I am always happy to visit with you whether online or in person, we really need to have coffee together.
ReplyDeleteHappy anniversary, much belated. 55 years is a terrific milestone.
Your decorating always gives me ideas, it is so lovely. I really appreciate your musing above. Trusting in the Spirit.
Your friend, Laurie
I so appreciate your thoughts about "the old couple sharing a life they have made their own". Yes, it is the same with Mr. T and myself. We will have been married 51 years this fall. We have made a life our own and yes, we love getting together with our family but also we love being by ourselves and doing things that are special to us.
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing that!
Have a blessed week and Resurrection Day!
Your posts are always a blessing! The food looks yummy, the decorations are always special, and your words are timely. Blessings to you and your family from Oregon!
ReplyDeleteLooks 😍 lovely.
ReplyDeleteFaye, my friend, you never cease to amaze me!! We need a tea time soon!
ReplyDeleteIt is like visiting an old friend ….
ReplyDeleteI was excited to see you had added a new post. Always enjoy seeing all the good food you prepare, how you decorate your home. I made blackberry jelly from frozen berries too. Nice that you and your daughter had a visit and meal together. My husband and I are like you and yours. Always working on a project. Need to try your way of doing the tomatoes. We can lots of juice mainly for soups. Thank you for sharing interesting days and ideas with us.
ReplyDeleteAlways a delight to read.
