Such lovely days...

Well hello there everyone..
It has been awhile..
Sorry about that..

We have been busy and the last couple of weeks have been lovely..

Our dear boy came home from out west and we are so happy to be to reach out and actually touch him..
We have been so looking forward to seeing Dustin after ten months..
I think the dear thing got taller...
Meeting him at the air port was a bit emotional as you can imagine..
Such a lovely feeling to wrap our arms around this kid that we have missed so...

I am such an emotional person..
But they were tears of joy..
Terry is as bad as me.. smile..
Guess who else was happy...
So exciting!
Dear old Charlie did not forget this lad....
smile..

Dustin's first visit was to see his Gram...

It was such a wonderful day!!

We have been celebrating here and there all week..

Meanwhile at the farm...
Everything is growing as it should..

Scarlet Runner Beans..

Herbs...

Zukes...

Harvested our first crop of over the winter garlic...
Love love them..

Decorated this sunflower, herb and veggie raised bed  with a few old saucers...

On Sunday we all went to church together at our little church in Salisbury...
Two grandsons were missed as one was working and one is away..
It was lovely!

I think if my kids were to ask me if there was something that we could all do that I would love the most it would be to go to church together...
It just makes my heart so glad!
My Mom and Gerald came too...
And Jada...
Thanking God for my precious family...

Then...
We all drove together in a convoy to Fundy National Park.. grin..

We ate at Harbour View...
Dustin finally got to have some Fish from the East Coast..
Real fish as he calls it.. grin..
It was a lovely meal..

Then we visited the local bakery once again for the sticky buns and coffee..
Found a couple of picnic tables and just relaxed in the sun..
Some went for a walk to the beach and gathered shells and we just enjoyed ourselves..
The Bay of Fundy was very welcoming...

The week has continued...
I am enjoying making breakfast ...

And a couple of his faves ...
Meat Balls..
He is visiting his friends though so as it is harvest season the work still goes on.. smile..

Terry has picked 8 grocery bags of beans off of one row..
I did 20 pints of French beans..
It took me several hours to cut them in the French style but hoping it will be worth the labour as I love canned French beans..
We shall see..

Then there were dill pickles to do...

Fermented a few jars also..

Here is the little way I found on Instagram to decorate the jars of jam and such..

Bought some oilcloth from the Hardware and cut it our in circles..
Put on elastics to hold and tied them up with twine..
You can reuse these..

We had a lovely breakfast last week, too with our grandson...
Matt...
He is in the Honduras this week...
We just wanted to see him before he left..
He is working hard down there..
He will be home this weekend, also..
Thank the Lord...

Every morning Charlie gets to see his master again..

Such a sweet photo of his devotion to Dustin...

The sad thing though is that the week is almost over and he will be gone again for too long..
Talking on the phone and all the stuff the web offers is wonderful..
But it is not the same...

He is happy though and doing well so this mama is satisfied and I just put his care in the hands of the Lord each and every day...
That is what we mothers and fathers do, eh?

Lots of kids working out west these days..
The world changes but that doesn't mean I have to like it.. smile..

Summer is closing down and I need to buy a new steno tablet for lists of all the wonderful things I want to accomplish this Fall..

We have a few more days with Dustin and then next week I will try to be busy and not miss him so much...

God is faithful and I am thankful...

Thanks so much for stopping by this day..
Love having you visit and as always I so look forward to your dear notes..
You all rock...

Take care of your sweet selves and your dear families...

Hugs...

Blessings..

Happy New Year everyone..
Welcome to the Blessed Hearth this evening..
I am so glad you dropped by..

I am sorry that I have not posted very much lately..
Time just seems to slip by and another day is over and I have not put the effort necessary into posting..
I just told Terry that starting tomorrow if the Lord wills I shall strive to do better..

I did buy a book from Chapters that has inspired me for the Winter and I will share it with you all.
It is just about being home and making an effort to get some simple special touches for our homes and our lives...

We had a lovely Christmas and our New Year's family time was wonderful...

The grandsons and Shonda , Dave and Dustin were all here for New Year's eve and overnight to the next day..
They had fun times playing the game Catan..
Or I think that is what it is called..
A very serious game, though.. smile..
We had a Chinese supper later in the evening ...

Chinese..
Egg Rolls and Plum Sauce
Chinese Soup and a Chinese Salad
Fried Rice with Bacon
Apricot Chicken
Desserts...

We had been without hydro the day before so I had double the work before everyone arrived so I was zonked, shall we say.. I went to bed before midnight..
This old gal isn't what she used to be but our dear daughter was such a help and it was all good..

The next day I arose (smile) at 6 am to put one of our turkeys we raised this summer into the oven...
And on with the day..
Everyone arrived..
Trevor and Tammy had a night out alone and arrived on New Year's Day with Tim Hortons coffees for everyone..
There were 14 of us..

My dear Mom...
She loves all the kids and her and Gerald have a great time with them all..

They sure are growing...
Such special young men..
Not because they are ours but just because they are..
I am so glad they walk with the Lord and are carrying the torch forward...

Their grandparents sure do love them..
Just like you do yours, eh!

Shonda and I had some time together while the guys played the game ....

There are a lot more pics but I won't bore you with them all and will get back to normal posts next time..

This is a Chinese salad we like..

Chinese Salad..
2 or 3 cups of cooked raw rice, cooled..
Chopped veggies to suit..
Mushrooms, green onions, red or green peppers. celery, parsley and then a handful of roasted peanuts or whatever kind you like..
You can also add a couple of cups of spinach if desired or even some fresh beansprouts..

The dressing..
2 Tablespoons fresh lemon juice
1 teaspoon soy sauce
1 garlic clove minced
 1/2 tsp. sugar
6 Tablespoons olive oil
salt and pepper to taste

Mix with salad at least a half hour before eating..

Anyway, dear hearts this is all for tonight..
So blessed in the past year and looking forward with joy to this new one..
God has been faithful and I am glad He is holding my hand..
God bless sweet friends..

The Old Back Stairwell and Grandsons....

Happy Weekend everyone..
Just a very short post tonight.. The shop was very busy today.. Old Home Week is winding down.. Tomorrow is the parade and then it is basically over..

Here are a couple of pics of this old cottage..
Hope you are enjoying seeing these as I seem to be short on inspiration the last few days.. Sorry..
Next week should be a bit more normal... smile..

This is the old back stairwell ...
This is the back way up to the boy's clubhouse..
They all slept up there last night... smile..
One decided to roll out of bed.. oh oh...
I didn't hear a thing..
Don't tell their mother.. grin..

Love the color of the treads and floor boards...
Old crocks...

An old doll that I made back in the seventies...smile..
And another bird nest gift from our son many years ago..
And yes that is sand or dirt from the beach...
It may as well stay there till they are gone.. eh?

I wonder what they are up to?  giggle..
They have found Gramps' secret hideaway upstairs in the front hall..
They are just watching the Discovery Channel...
And pretending to be sleeping.. smile..

I am downstairs doing this and they are just up the stairs laughing their heads off at some antics of little kids... grin..
Bless them, dear Lord and let them always be so happy...

Have a great evening sweet ladies and thanks for visiting..
LOVE.. LOVE.. YOUR COMMENTS..
(yours, too little Loren..)
God bless and keep you all in His Precious Care..
