Good Morning everyone...
Just posting a wee Christmas project for you..
If you like it, that is...
I wanted you to have time to do it or I would have waited until it looks even better...
Time is running out, though.. smile..
I saw this on a blog over in Europe but I did not pin it so it is not my idea and actually hers looked better but this one is just starting..
All you need is a mason jar with the sealer out of it..
Fill the jar with water and screw the ring on...
And put an onion on the top so that it's bottom is in the water..
I changed the water every couple of days..
It took about a week for the top to start..
After it gets going good add some pine or fir boughs around the bottom..On top of the ring...
When I get it really good I will show you another pic..
I just have it sitting on the sill above my sink so I can look after it..
In my living room I have all these things patiently waiting for me to put them somewhere..
They are still smiling..
They must know patience is a virtue.. grin..
That is all for this morning..
Terry got all of the border stripped yesterday..
THE DEAR MAN...
I cleaned it up, though.. grin..
AND ...
The mantel is now in place and decorated..
I will catch up with you all later..
Are you all ready?
By the way...
Thank you sweet ladies for all of the lovely comments..
You guys are precious..
God bless....
Faye, I think that is a red onion and I would like to try it. Be sure and let us see yours when it gets growing. I haven't done any decorating, so this would be fun. Thanks for passing it on.
ReplyDeleteFaye, I have never tried to grow them this way...but it looks as if it would look really lovely and unique, once it is done. Thanks for sharing. :0) m.b.
ReplyDeleteHello there, dear Faye.....Looks like an easy project but interesting. I think I am going to try it! I would love to watch it grow...all the roots and everything! You're growing onions? I thought it was a paperwhite bulb at first. You'll have to let us know how it grows. Sounds like you're in the midst of renovations just before you decorate. I hope you'll share photos of your living room all decorated. I spent the day in town shopping and am so tired and my feet, legs and knee are really sore. Walking and standing on cement floors is hard on a person. Hugs, Pamela
ReplyDeleteI had to look twice at your onion- thought it was a bird... you must be so glad to get your border stripped off :)
ReplyDeleteI thought it was a flower of some kind! Can't wait to see the picture as it grows.
ReplyDeleteWonderful Faye...I love all your ideas

The onion looks interesting, I'm wondering what it is going to look like or is meant to be. Your little snowmen are so cute and no, I'm not ready. I have a sign to make and something to make or buy for my oldest grands that live here.
