Good Friday Evening...
I thought I would surprise you all with another little post..
so soon after the other one..😀.
I had not mentioned hardly anything about the farm the last post so as we were out there today I took a few pics of our day..
It started out sunny but by the time we arrived there from home it was clouding up a bit..
The herbs beds are doing great....
my fave almost except for basil.... lovage...
I should have taken more pics of herbs.. sorry.
I have to pick my lavender next time out..
It started raining so I didn't get it done.. 😞
Do you who have followed the blog for some time remember the story of the poppies coming back to the old garden after it had been left for so many years?
Well, they are still returning to say hello every summer..
I so love their darling faces....
My husband who was getting on my nerves today brought these in without me asking.. lol.. The dear man!
I think you know what I mean... some days!! 😀
The poppies helped!
That's all I am saying..
Oh yes..
I think I told you I had a sunstroke there back in June..
Well, the heat is ticking me off a bit, I think.. lol
Anyway, he came out of Costco the other day with this sweet sun hat..
Yeah...most of the time he is a keeper.. 😙
Picked some plantain growing on the lawn, a bit of comfrey, oregano, thyme and some garlic scapes...
And calendula blossoms..
I found it at a yard sale..
I thought it was a pillow case and I bought it as I love old pillow cases with such lovely embroidery..
But..
I was happy to see it is a runner..
Looks lovely on that old farm table.. smile..
While Terry worked in the gardens I was in the pantry...
Terry had washed the window for me after I took down all the blue dishes..
So I washed them all up and as I couldn't reach the top sill I just rearranged them..
I may get to putting them back and then again I may not..
I so love this little room..
When I was a wee girl and used to visit my Aunt Eva, this was the dining room..
She had a table and a china cabinet in there..
And a door went through to the livingroom..
Then when she had to start using a wheel chair, they made this room into a bedroom for her and uncle..
along with the bathroom adjoining..
After we sold the cottages at St. Martins and decided we would spend summers there at the farm; Terry made it into this pantry...
I love to make bread and such in there and watch him working in the garden...
And then it started raining..
I figured he would be in pretty soon and he was..
By the time we had lunch over the sun was out again for a while..
We arrived home earlier then usual and so I could do this post...
I made a fish chowder for supper.
I love fish chowder anytime but really love it on a rainy wet Friday night.. eh? 💕
This is just a little reminder to pick your roses while you may..
They are found everywhere right now but soon they won't be so plentiful...
You can make hair rinse, rose oil and salves, dry the petals for potpourri or a body powder or make a jelly..
Just so much you can do with them..
\
For the dear girl who wanted my dill pickle popsicle recipe..
I meant to get back to you everyday but didn't get to it..
Really, it is just putting a couple of pickles and juice in your chopper or food processor and whirl..
Add a little water or more juice if necessary and freeze..
Easy peasy...
And how true is this, eh!!
God bless you dear things and thanks so much for stopping by..
I love reading your notes and I will get back to your comments you left on Facebook really soon..
I told you I am pathetic..
Nevertheless, I do love to hear from you..
Either her, Facebook page or Instagram on blessedhearth..
Take care of yourselves and your families..
They are your most precious possession here on earth..
Hugs...
