Some crochet humor for you all..

Good Evening everyone..
This is my second try at posting tonight..
My first one published without me clicking it .. I don't know what happened.. Oh well..
Here I am again..
I wanted to share something with you that I came across in the Sun room when I was trying to get it organized today...
I sew and do a few crafts in there, too..
It is this ....

It is an old fashioned craft .. I bought a box of very old crochet at an auction ages ago and loved this little project..
It was on a piece of construction paper with these instructions..

Soap Wheel..
Put your bits of soap inside this wheel..
And pull the string uptight..
Then take it to the bathroom with you...
And scrub with all your might..
Isn't that sweet and so kind of old fashioned?

Do you know how to crochet?

Then here is a little humor for you... grin..
I found  it in the Sun room, too.. My dear friend Patricia sent me before we had a computer..
I do not know who made it up but I love anything funny and she knew that I would love it.. And I did..

Hope you have time to read it.. smile..

A man and woman had been married for more than 60 years.  They had shared everything.  They had talked about everything.  They had kept no secrets from each other except that the little old woman had a shoe box at the top of her closet that she had cautioned her husband never to open or ask her about..
For all of these years he had never thought about the box, but one day the little old woman had got very sick and the doctor said she would not recover.  In trying to sort out their affairs, the little old man took down the shoebox and took it to his wife's bedside.
She agreed that it was time that he should know what was in the box.  When he opened it he found two crocheted dolls and a stack of money totaling $95,000.00
He asked her about the contents..
"When we were married," she said.. "My grandmother told me the secret of a happy marriage was to never argue.  She told me if I ever got angry with you I should keep quiet and crochet a doll."
The little old man was so moved he had to fight back the tears..
Only TWO precious dolls were in the box.  She had only been angry with him two times in all those years of living and loving..
He almost burst with happiness..
"Honey,"  he said, "that explains the dolls but what about all of this money?  Where did it come from?"
"Oh," she said, "that's the money I made from selling the dolls."

LOL... Isn't that hilarious?

Well, here is a little prayer that was written on the bottom, too..

A prayer...
Dear Lord..
I pray for wisdom to understand my husband..
Love to forgive him..
And patience with his moods..
for....Lord if I pray for strength..
I'll beat him to death .. because I don't know how to crochet..

Grin.. Funny, eh!

That's for all you dear girls who love your husbands..
No matter what...

Love to you all..
xxoxo

  6. Just lovely, the photo. Wow, some story, wonder how many the rest of us could come up with? Such a blessing, our men. I'm very thankful for mine!

We used to take little mesh produce bags, put all the soap slivers in them, and use like a scrubby. One of those might work well in a little crochet piece like yours. Could be I need to get out my hook!
    Thanks so much!

  15. I love the old man-old woman story. I read it out loud and we all laughed so hard. I wanted to tell you, if you click on the word pinwheel candy in the post it should take you to the recipe. If it doesn't work let me know. I am just learning how to do all this. I love the soap wheel. A great idea. Enjoy your day and God bless.

  18. Oh Faye, that is truly hilarious!!! I love it. Yes, I love my husband, he is a good man, but I need wisdom and patience, too. Don't we all.
I enjoyed seeing the little crocheted piece, what a great idea, to put left over soap bits in it and use it as a scrubber when in the tub! Great old-fashioned "green" idea.
    Hugs and big smiles, Cindy

I love the story! I need to start doll making.
Just think of all... the money I've lost over all these years already.
I bet that little body scrubber works great. I make my own pot scrubbers and love them.
    Have a good weekend!

  23. I do not crochet. My Dear Sweet Grandma..bless her soul...tried to teach me once. She gave up. She had a heart of gold...and loved to work with her hands. She was a CNA...she loved to bake...ohh how I loved going to her house! And she made beautiful homeade gifts for us!! She tried to teach me to sew once too...she told me to move over, and finished my pillow for me!! Hmmm...maybe that's why I don't have a husband...didn't learn how to crochet!! katie
