Spring is on the way...

Hello my dears..

I am so glad you dropped by the Blessed Hearth..
Thank you all for the sweet comments and prayers on the last posting..
You are all so kind..

The last two days have been so warm and Spring like here in Eastern Canada..
There was a wonderful breeze and I was so pleased to actually dry two lines of sheets and curtains and such..
..
There is nothing like the smell of fresh sheets off of the line.. eh?

Just doing some daily chore like things ..
Making bread, cleaning my pantry and doing a bit of sewing..

There was a sweet letter in the mail from some little friends in Wisconsin..
I think this was part of their homework.. smile..
I hope you ladies visit the Mayo Family ..
You can find them HERE..

And I have included a pic of Sammi..
He is looking forward to Spring, too.. smile..

Well, dear ladies that is all for tonight..
Have yourselves a wonderful weekend..
Sorry I am so boring today..

Looking forward to reading your lovely notes..
Then I know you were here.. smile..

Oh, and let me know who you are if you comment annonomysly..
Please..

Peace..

  1. I love clothes, towels and sheets dried outdoors. Haven't had that luxury in many moons. No one hangs clothes outdoors here any more, such a shame. Sammi looks like he wants to run out and play or catch something! Faye, you are never boring. I love your photos. xo

  3. Oh Faye, If you have read many of my blogs, I have stated several times about the battle with my mister over a clothes line. He does not want me to have one and I have begged for one for years. I agree, crawling into bed on sheets Dried in the sunshine,,, nothing better. Yes, Spring is around the bend here in GA. Going to reach into the 70's tomorrow and today was so pleasant outside. Wishing you and your family a wonderful weekend.

  5. ummm...we're supposed to get 20+ cm of snow on tuesday... good thing you've already dried your things on the line :)
The way I see it is that if we get new snow, the old snow will only melt faster :) but tuesday!!! That's Bible study night :( I dont want to miss

  6. I love the photos of the clothes on the line Faye. What a lovely day for it. I don't dare hang clothes out now as the bird feeder is hanging on the clothesline and has been all winter. The chickadees would be making my clean laundry very dirty I'm afraid. Have a wonderful weekend.

I also love clothes that have been line dried, and in particular, bedding:) So far this year I haven't used my line, but soon...oh yes soon! Love reading your blog, wish I had half the ambition to do one as well, but I know me. After a couple of months it would gradually taper off into nothing! Enjoy your weekend:)

  9. I've always wanted a clothesline! I'll have to get my husband to set up one for me. I love your photos of the clothes swaying in the wind. I bet the sheets smell so good after drying outside. I hope you have a great weekend, Faye! Take care.

  10. Heallo dear Mrs. Henry, You are never boring. Every night I say..."Oh, I hope Faye posted tonight!" And every night I look for you!

All of my neighbors hang their clothes, sheets, curtains and etc. out to dry in spring, summer and fall. We haven't yet. It has been so damp, cold and windy here......did I say cold? And the weatherman says we are in for some more cold weather! I think I am moving up to New Brunswick!!!

Hope your Saturday is a good one tomorrow. Have some fun. Can I ask what you are sewing? Secret?

  14. Well Faye...I am completely green this morning, after seeing your beautiful sheets drying in the sun - with snow patches all around :)

Here in the mountains, the temperatures are still too cold for me to hang clothes on the line...but spring is truly - almost here ;D

  16. Wow, that homemade bread made me so hungry! Oh my hanging clothes on the line like that, amazing. We are still quite cold here in Iowa so not so much of going outside. How I long for Spring.

  17. Faye...I love the pictures of your clothes blowing in the wind; and yes, you can't get better than the smell of fresh dried sheets when you crawl into bed! Its been so nice to see bare ground again; Our veg garden is totally bare, makes one want to start buying seeds etc...but.. we're to get a snowstorm on Tuesday; at least at this point in the year, we know it wont last; spring is almost here!! I look forward to each of your posts and your wonderful pictures!

  18. I love the pictures of the clothesline! I need to wash curtains but hubby has to get them down and up for this shorty and he is working on the car today. I am picturing black greasy finger prints :)

This AM at the grocery the bag boy asked where my bread was. I told him that I bake all our bread. He said he had never heard of such a thing and seemed quite surprised. I just thought that it was so sad that he had never had a wonderful slice of warm homemade bread. I just cannot imagine not knowing that bread can be baked at home!

  19. That's a lovely photo of your linens on the line. I'm glad that Spring is on the way for you...it certainly isn't on the way here. It's snowing and blowing and c.o.l.d.!!!
Your bread looks so yummy and homey.
    Hugs, Cindy

  20. Faye, I can hear the sheets blowing in the wind and smell their sweet smell now. You're right...nothing like it!
The bread looks delicious. I am making a lasagna today using the homemade ricotta cheese we made on Thurs. night. I have to take our granddaughter to dance, so it will be an easy make ahead dish that I can just pop into the oven when I return.
I loved your table runner in your most recent post. I am still making pillowcases. I will try to post some pictures at some point.
I hear we have a storm coming our way. Have you heard weather you will be getting it in your area?
    Have a great week!
    Blessings,
    Julie

  21. There is something so simple, but lovely about a clothesline, with the flappin in progress...this is such a pretty picture...no matter the weather. I like the idea of the tension rod across the stove to hang things on....genius.....:)
