Come on into my pantry while I make a pie....

Good Evening my dears..
I was wondering if you would like to come into my pantry with me.. I want to make a little something for Sunday dinner tomorrow..
It is an old recipe that I have made for several years..
We all like it and it makes up very quickly.. That is a good thing, right?
Please come on in...
This is not a very big room but it serves it's purpose..right..
Excuse my shelves.. I organize but then I turn around and they need organized again.. smile.. Oh well..

Now for the recipe..
It is called Impossible Pie..
Perhaps, you have made this before...
In a mixing bowl place these ingredients..
4 eggs
1 1/4 cups of sugar
2 cups of milk
1 tsp. vanilla
1 cup coconut
1/2 stick of butter or margarine, melted
1/2 cup self rising flour..

Mix all ingredients and blend well..

Pour into a 9 1/2 inch ungreased pie plate..
Bake at 350 degree oven..

Bake for 35 to 40 minutes..
Let cool well..

See how the crust develops at the bottom..
Such a mystery.. smile..
You can leave out the coconut and just have a custard pie, if you prefer..

What have you girls been busy doing on this lovely day?
I am still working away at getting the house cleaned and decorated..

Church tomorrow... smile...

Psalms 95 : 2-3

Let us come before him with thanksgiving and extol him with music and song.  For the LORD is the great God, the great King above all gods..

Have a blessed day my friends..
Thanks for dropping by and welcome to the new followers of the blog.. So happy to have you..
Hugs...

  2. That pie is called "impossible" because it looks and probably tastes impossibly delicious ;) :) :)

Oh, I really like the vintage repro tins with the flour, coffee, sugar and tea on them. I have some vintage repro tins like that, too. They're not in the same style. They're different, but still cute :)

Have a good weekend :) love and hugs from the ocean shores of California, Heather :)

  6. I have to make your "Impossible Pie", it sounds and looks fabulous!!! I love coconut and so does my hubby, so that sounds like a winner.
I hope you and your family had a wonderful time in Church today, we did! I would love to know the kind of church that you go to. My hubby is a UPCI minister, he isn't pastoring right now...yet. We visited and he preached this morning at a church that is looking for a Pastor, God's will be done.
    Hugs, Cindy

I love coconut but Hubby won't eat it. I especially like the picture that shows the old cookbook where you got the recipe. I love old cookbooks. Enjoy your day and God bless.

  16. Hi Faye, Everyone should make your Impossible Pie. It is easy and soooo good! I have not made it in quite a few years but this has reminded me as to how much Jim likkes it!!! Wish I could have ridden along to the farm with you and Terry. I would have been so happy. The spring water must be an enormous treat. Nice doggie for your family. This is the first I have heard about the dog. I must have missed a time or two. You take care of yourself and you are right - NO SNOW SHOES FOR YOU!!!!!!!!
